  1. I am not saying anything bad about the hospital at all... I know that people who go there are given the care they want and need. Just speaking from the nursing side of things that I have heard terrible things from people who have worked there and I personally wouldn't want to work for them. As far as the area goes... I just wouldn't want to be caught working night shifts and walking to my car. Just a bad spot in my opinion. I agree UPMC East looks nice so far!
  2. Most of the positions I have seen have been for 'Professional Staff Nurses' Reguiring 6 months of experience or more. Kind of discouraging to new grads! I am on month number 5 as an RN at my current job, but even the 'staff nurse' positions I have applied for have not been biting. I live closest to UPMC Mckeesport but I would not work there... I have heard horror stories of severe staff shortages and the area is terrrrible!
  3. I am an RN Supervisor at a LTC Facility. I usually average about 45-50 hours/ week... Feels like a lot more considering I kick out 32-34 hours of that within a 48 hour period!! Every weekend 16 hour shifts both days... Thumbs down!
