  1. Yes, 31 is too old, if you wish to retire by the time you are 35. :) I am 45 turning 46 before my August ADN program starts this year. Oh well, I might as well get started. I worry too because my brain doesn't absorb and think as quick as it once did but then I sit in class for some of the prereqs and I'm dumbfounded how life has just 'taught' me some things that others are struggling with. Good luck...not sure where I plan to go after ADN....we shall see.
  2. To have failed a clinical would have me in the office finding exactly why. I would go to her/them and find out exactly everything that she feels failed you. I understand you have to go face her again but I would let her know that I am serious about correcting my mistakes.
  3. You have been given excellent advice here from many perspectives. Cheating is cheating. You have to learn to stand up for yourself. One other thing that I have not seen here is to be direct and ask her exactly what it is that she is looking for....This could tell you if she is wanting to copy or just look over a minute to see if she 'got the point' of how to do something. Watch body language and facial expressions. If she is honest, you should know it quickly. Times of death are hard and sometimes you just need reassurance that you are not 'missing' something.
  4. I think the most surprising result would be a nursing student who came up negative for caffeine.
  5. Wow! Such a lonely world... Very well done.
  6. First of all, you are not giving yourself any credit. English is your second language and you are passing at the END of your first year. You feel inadequate in comparison to the other students in their time and communication. You already have the knowledge base. Did your instructor yell at you or is it just you being so hard on yourself? Take your time. Your patients will appreciate your slower manner with them.
