Thanks alot I am also thinking of the commute but TGH would pay almost 5$/hr more Can you also tell me roughly how much deductions i would have per pay...I have never worked in the states, im from canada and we get really taxed here..so coming to florida means i am gettinga major pay cut bc the pay here is higher but i am guessing ill pay less taxes? What should i expect to bring home? lets say if i make 25/hr? and dont consider benefits thanks

  14. Hi Ukjenn I want to find out if you have heard anything about cross country or cirrus medical staffing? I would like to take an assignment and get some incentives but would also really like to get relocation assistance and i think that would most likely be offered with the hospital directly What can you tell me about the pay in tampa, i wonder if the travel companies would pay me less than the hospitals btw i tried to private msg u but i can not until i am more active on this website Also, what would be a better health coverage bc all i see is plan 401 and i have no idea about the different medical insurance and companies I am coming from canada and will have +4 years thanks again
  15. Hi renne My inbox is not full i can not send private msgs bc i guess i am not a very active member How else do you think we can communicate? thanks
  16. Thanks UKjenn, that sounds great So how do you suggest i can try what you are doing. doing contract while working with the hospital I really want to get more incentives from the hospitals also can you tell me which travel agency you worked with and if you were happy with them? thanks
  17. Hi dear nurses I am planning to relocate to Tampa, Florida I am undecided whether to take a travelling assignment or directly get hired by the hospital I know about the incentives that travel nursing offers but im not sure if i would get less pay or get stuck on a floor and not be able to move? Any thoughts?
  18. I am also planning to relocate from Canada to Tampa, I already have my license and unsure which route to take, travel nursing or direct hire from the hospital. How can I get housing by the hospital, I thought that was only by travel nursing Any info would be much appreciated Cheers
  19. Bnurs posted a topic in Florida Nursing
Hi, I am planning to relocate to tampa. I would be interested in doing some travel nursing to get a feel of the city then work permanent. But i would not mind if i start at a nice place on a permanent basis..basically, im open to options. What is the pay like in tampa, Fl? Also what is a better hospital to start from..i have 3 years of surgical (Gen Surg) experience. Thanks
  20. Hi friends I am a BCIT nursing graduate and came across this post and wanted to share some of my personal experience with you all. I graduated around 3 years ago and also have a BA from UBC prior to BCIT. I must say that BCIT was a tough program and many students were seriously challenged. I wanted to suggest to you all to look elsewhere if you are having to wait behind the doors to get into BCIT..specially if you have a previous degree...many USA universities offer Nursing degrees (bachelors of sci) in 1 year if you have a previous degree/bachelor..i did not know this when i decided to study nursing and could have saved thousands of dollars and years of schooling. Just an idea that if you are able to relocate...there are other schools with great opportunities if you want to become a nurse Good luck to you all wanting to get into BCIT...you will be changed through the experience.
