Harper College RN Program Spring 2014
the cutoff admission score for this term was 45, which is low. typically it is around a 55-60 but it all depends on the pool of applicants. i am still working on my physiology class and was accepted on a contingency offer that i have to pass physiology with a C or higher otherwise i lose my spot. you should always apply when you have all the requirements completed....or just 1 left. but yes i say if you can get a 60 or higher for your total admissions points youd get in.

COD pax pn and admissions
As stated on College of Dupage's website....the PN program is being phased out, so the college no longer has a PN program. Those admitted for the Spring 2013 term were the last. You should review the website every so often to keep yourself updated on the changes they make. There are usually a lot!

UNLV- HESI A2 exam
Hi! I will be taking the HESI A2 exam for the ADN program at College of Dupage. On their website, they describe the sections of the HESI that applicants will be tested on: "reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and general knowledge, A&P, learning style and personality traits. NO WHERE does it say anything about MATH. I am THRILLED because I HATE math and always do poorly on those sections!! Does anyone know what the "general knowledge" section is? I hope it is not math.... I called COD and the testing center has no idea. I also spoke with a counselor who said it is just general things learned along the way like health care terms, things seen in the newspaper...etc. Seriously? PLEASE HELP!

Let me enligten you about the HESI A2.
I am looking to apply to College of Dupage's ADN program next fall. They require the HESI A2 exam....it says "COD will test you on vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, A&P, learning style and personality." It does NOT explicitly say MATH. I am very, very worried about math on exams as I do not do well. Can someone please tell me what "general knowledge" means? What exactly is on the exam in that regard?!!?? Thanks!!

Harper College Palatine IL
@PinkNBlue Thanks for your input! I am hoping to get my math score up on the NLN exam. I got 76 percentile on my first attempt. With my other admission points I would have most likely gotten accepted into the program. However, in order to be accepted you need a 60% in verbal, 40 in math and 40 in science. Math has never been my subject and I only got a 22%. I am doing my best to learn all that I can and remember it so I can get that 40% required!! I have been using the internet, Khanacademy, and the practice books...but it's just soooo difficult for me! I take the exam again on July 29. I NEED to get that math score up because if I don't I have to wait another 6 months to retake the NLN for the final time (3 is max), and if I do well I have to wait another year to apply!! Does anyone have any advice for me??? I am really nervous and I am finding it difficult to find time to study for my classes I am currently taking and then also studying for this exam on top of working 40+ hours a week!!!

Harper College Palatine IL
I heard from various students in the RN program that Harper's professors do not get along and do not care about their students' success. They do not make themselves available to their students, either. I have also heard many people tell me they are usually straight A students and they are barely passing even with studying many, many hours a week. Any comments?
