  1. It was not your fault! 1st of all she still needs to be able to change sheets, diapers, whatever is necessary if you are not available. Her education does not get her out of that task-ever. If she thinks it does she needs to go do something else. REPORT HER!
  2. Wow, and I'm just worried about my clinicals because they are asking me to do things I've never done before (like giving meds, taking care of patients) and working 2 jobs when my instructors are telling me not to work. I think you need to put on your big girl panties, show up on time, take off the nail polish, and get the TB skin test done already! Maybe you should consider another career if you can't do the little stuff because I wouldn't want you to treat me or my family in the future.
  3. I am in my 2nd semester of Nursing School after working for a major Telecommunications Company for 31 years. I made the same money when I retired as I will as a new RN. There is crap in every job. It has always been that way and it won't change. I hated that job! I stuck with it because it took care of my family. Will there be all kinds of crap to deal with in Nursing? You better believe it. You have seen what nurses do. You work with them every day. If you think it is worth it, it is. I have always wanted to be a nurse and this is my time to do it.
  4. I've had a career in the business world, retired, and now I am doing something I have always wanted to do. God is guiding my steps and when I don't think I can go any further He keeps things moving. I want to be where He wants me to be. Thanks for the encouraging words!
  5. Wait, do I have to be young and good looking to be a Nurse? I'm a 52 year old lady in my 2nd semester of Nursing School. Should I change careers again? Maybe an underwear model?
  6. obamacare=socialized medicine. The government will be in charge of health care and we will not receive as good of care as we did in the past. Does the GOP want to stop Medicare and SS? I think they do in its present form. They are still closer to right than Obama.
  7. I have wanted to be a Nurse since I was 13 (I am now 52). Due to life getting in the way I am just now in my 2nd semester of Clinicals. It is a full time job. My son just turned 19. I did my pre-reqs when he was young while working a full time job and I regret the time away from him. I am going to go way off the wall here and recommend that you stay home with those babies for a while. You will not regret one minute of time that you spend with them when you are done. Take some classes here and there if you can work it out with your husband but don't take the time away from your babies. They are more important than anything else in this life. The rest can wait.
  8. I just finished my 1st semester of Nursing School and it is tough! You have to learn to think differently than you ever have before, and you need to plan on studying as much as possible when you are not in class. I thought I learned better with others but I actually did better studying on my own. You will learn alot about being organized. I found out for me that note cards were not the way to go. I was able to organize my learning more by typing it in to the computer as an outline. As soon as you get out of class organize your notes. If you can print the slides that your teacher will use for class before class begins make your notes on them. Listen to your teachers! They will guide you in the right direction. If you don't have to work, don't. I have to work and that takes away from my study time. I am trying to remember that C=RN. Oh, and by the way, the books are not god in any shape, form or fashion. Lean on the real God (Jesus) and He will help light your path!
  9. I did 31 years in telecommunications hell, i am looking forward to finally living the dream of becoming a Nurse, warts and all. You will have crap in any job-its just the real kind as a Nurse.
