  1. where do I find course compass??
  2. I am struggling with statistics! The text used is awful and does not explain in enough detail. I watch you tube videos on all of the subjects, cohorts etc and I am sinking. Ant advice would be greatly appreciated since I can not do any other classes till I finish this one and term ends Jan15. I do have my required credits done for term this is a class SM brought up to do in this term.
  3. but are you allowed to submit the work in more than 1 at a time. The way it was explained to me is that all are open to see but you could not submit any work until you are in the class itself but may work on stuff to hand in later...I am a bit confused lol
  4. I did ask f I requested to take more at a time would it be allowed and was told no BUT he did say that all of the course were open to me so I could see what all the stuff needed to be done and work on it until I could take the class itself. Made no sense to me because things could change from one prof. to the other....ugh
  5. I was told at my intake interview that we can only take 1 class at a time...how in the heck is everyone getting so many credits done in 1 term if we can only take 1 class. I wanted to take 2-3 classes at the same time like I did in college.
  6. no they do recognize the program as far as degree is concerned, I have ASN from EC. PHEA is where the FASFA info. goes to decide if one qualifies for any grants or loans. I do qualify and if I was attending EC they would send the monies to them but for whatever reason they will not release funds to WGU. Financial dept at WGU said they will look into it when I get closer to start date.
  7. I am so confused about paying for enrollment. I am in PA and qualify for a substantial Pell Grant but PHEA states that I can not use it because PA does not recognize WGU. I spoke with financial aide at WGU and because I am not starting till august 1st they were no help because I was told it was too soon to work on my account. I do ot want to pay full amount if entitled to a grant....anyone else have this issue?
  8. I tried to join the group ut I have to be within 1 month of my start date before they will allow me to join.
  9. I am not sure if I will be allowed to pick...I hope so. I have to get biochem., stats, and a history course out of the way then all I have to worry about are the nursing ones. I want to move as fast as possible!
  10. It took about three months and that is with me emailing my councilor several times throughout process.
  11. Hi! In addition to my nursing classes I have to take biochemistry, stats, and a history class to get my BSN. I would like to take as many classes in a term as I can handle due to funds and time. I would love some suggestions on which to take first (the ones which require the least amount of time to finish) thanks so much! I am very used to self paced schooling since I graduated from Excelsior with ASN. Amber:yes:
  12. Hi I was wondering are there books we need to buy/rent for any/all of the nursing classes (RN-BSN) as well as Statistics and History?
  13. I had issues with my enrollment councilor not returning my calls etc. so after becoming increasingly frustrated, I called the school and asked to have a new one! I have had no issues since and I hope that as soon as I clep this last class and pay my tuition, I will officially working on my BSN with WGU!!
  14. Thanks so much, now if only I could get my application done a nd sent....I am having issues with the site and process so I need to call them and get it figured out before heading to work....ugh!
  15. Thanks, were there quizzes/tests that needed proctored for stats as well as biochemistry?
  16. Hi! I need to take statistics and biochemistry; anyone who has taken either class through WGU, would you mind sharing what you thought of class? I am math/graph/excel challenged and I have been dragging my feet signing up for stats. Help Amber
  17. Ok:yes: so how many of the classes are exam based vs papers? I always scored high on my excelsior nursing exams, I do not like writing papers, I am not very good at it and as far as power point...ugh. The facebook site for WGU is all over the place and peeps seem to be scrambling all of the time but I am not sure exactly which classes they are doing.
  18. Hi! I would love to have more information on how exactly the RN-BSN classes work through WGU? I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the set-up. This is what I think I know about the program, like Excelsior you self teach on a specific subject then take a proctored exam with the difference being it is pass or fail not graded like it was through EC? Some classes have papers to write and other you have power point projects?? I am so confused. Thanks in advanced.:)
  19. I am looking into RN-BSN school options and I would love to know more about WGU program. I understand it is a set fee and you can take a many classes as you want but what I would like to know is how the classes are ran? Is it like Excelsior where you self learn and then proctored exams online or is it like Excelsior where most of the classes focus on loads of essays etc?
  20. Hi, and yes I understood the entire process, I actually am doing everything with an enrollment advisor at Walden University. Sorry this post should have gone under previous poster's question....
  21. The bounced check was written and sent by Walden. They requested my transcript from the college on their own (the recruiter did all of the leg work, all I did was sign a paper to allow the release of info. to them). Once the transcript was received it looks like someone at Walden put a stop payment on the 6 dollar check, which then bounced when college went to deposit it.
  22. Unbelievable, Walden University where I was looking at doing my BSN/MSN sent a check to pay for my transcripts to HACC and turned right around and stopped payment on it causing me too receive a letter from HACC stating I owe them 26.00, 6 for the transcript and 20.00 for the bounced check. ***! I called HACC and now I have to call Waldens to get to the bottom of this...maybe I won't be doing business with them after all!
