  1. Thanks for your reply. I talked with my international coordinator and she told me that if I work on CPT for less than 12 months, I will still be eligible for OPT. But she wasn't sure that how exactly they count these 12 months (semester wise or exact dates). I am planing to stay on CPT on 16th May 2014 to 30th April 2014. I hope I will not eliminate my OPT by doing this.

  3. I am an international graduate student doing MSN with NP specialty. I will finish my 1st year of MSN in May 2014. I am wondering if it is possible for me to work as RN on CPT after completion of first year (I have an US RN license). I read on my university website that the work on CPT must be related to your course of study. Is working as an RN while doing NP are considered related? I want to stabilize myself economically and gain US RN experience. Thanks in advance, Mandeep Kaur
  4. I think there should not be a problem with writing certification exam under student visa as you can legally work in US for 12 months after completion of you studies without having an H-1 B. Even if SSN is required, you can get one by working on campus while studying.
  5. I am an international student doing my MSN with NP program in class of 2015. I am in the second semester of my degree. I have two years of RN experience in India but I don't have any RN experience in US as of yet. I can legally work after completion of the first year of my Masters (on CPT). With too much work load in my MSN, I will only be able of work part time which would give me little RN experience before completion of MSN. Would one year half time US RN experience plus two years of Indian RN experience be enough for me to find a good NP job? OR Should I take one year off from my studies and gain some RN experience before graduating? Your input is valuable. Thanks, Mandeep

NURS 7360 Evidence Based Practice I 2 cr.l NSG 6671 Pathophysiology (Troy) 3 cr. NURS 7370 Evidence Based Practice II 2 cr. NURS 7250 Healthcare Policy and Ethics for the Nurse Leaders 3 cr. NURS 7550 Primary Care II: Adults and Elderly 3 cr. NURS 7920 Primary Care Practicum 7 cr NURS 7940 Evidence Based Practice III I am wondering if I am eligible for AANP Exam? Upon successful completion of my MS, will I be able to select one specialty for AANP Exam? My program is CCNE accredited. Thanks in advance Mandeep Kaur
  7. I am also wondering the same. I have RN license from Vermont BON and Now I want to change it to Alabama. My CES report has been expired. Do I need to re-do all the process or just pay the fee for the new CES report. Please reply soon. Thanks
  8. Hi Sawling: I am also on the same boat as you were last year. I did my BS in Nursing from India, have an active license from Vermont State Board of Nursing and currently I am on H-4 in California. Could you please guide me for getting RN job in California? (I need SSN to endorse my License to California BON but I don't have it) Do I have to study here? If yes, then please suggest me some short term courses. Please reply soon. Mandeep
  9. Thanks for your reply. I think conversion of H4 to F1 (Studend Visa) should not be a problem provided I have admission in a school. Can I get admission on the basis of my Vermont License and then endorse it to CA before starting of the clinical rotations?? For License endorsement, I need SSN which I can only get if I work on campus after getting admission. I am looking for some university which needs license from any state for admission. Thanks again. Mandeep
  10. Hi everybody, I have given my NCLEX exam for Vermont state when I was in India and passed it on my first attempt. I have an active license from Vermont BON. I came to US on H-4 Visa and now I am in Los Angles, California. I want to start Nursing practitioner program in any nearby university. I tried to look around but most of the universities want California RN license for admission. Could anybody please suggest me some universities in LA or surroundings where I can get admission on the basis of my Vermont License. Since I am on H4 and I cannot work and get SSN, endorsement of RN licence to CA is not an option for me. I would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance. Mandeep
