Anyone applied/ heard from TWU Dallas campus FNP fall 2014?

I graduated from there Last year. I also heard it was a Long shot:/ they like to see at least 3 years of expierence. But praying I get it! Keep me updated on y'all's status!

Hi NewToDallas, I actually got the L&D residency at Parkland and accepted that position, and cancelled the interview I had at THR. I am so sorry you did not get it, but I would try emailing Gina. The worst that could happen is she wont reply. I never met her, but she was very nice on the phone and I am sure she would email you back. Best of luck on your job search!

I am not sure how they are doing it. I did hear that they would contact you within 30 days of your interview and it was about 30 days after my interview that i heard. Best of luck! I would call HR and just ask though, yes they might get annoyed but you don't have to tell them who you are!

Jamie.glaze, I interviewed for L&D and called the recruiter Friday and asked when they will be letting people know, and she said by "mid next week". So if I don't hear anything by thursday, then I will call again. Hopefully we will hear this week!! Best of luck! Let me know if you hear anything!

Congrats on your interview! No, I wasn't able to attend, but I have heard that as well! My status online says that my application has been forwarded to the hiring manager, but i feel like no one will look at it, Ah! I'll call tomorrow and find our more info. But let me know how it goes!

Hi Genu9ine, I got your private message and I cant respond because it wont let me!! but call HR and ask for a nurse recruiter for L&D. then leave a message if they dont answer. but be persistent, call back in a day or two! I hope you can get a hold of someone, i know the frustration! but don't be afraid to keep calling! Good Luck!

Has anyone applied to a THR residency (specifically the women's services residency), and received a call about an interview?? I hear they are very slow at getting back to you, and the residencies are very hard to get into unless you know someone at THR. Let me know if anyone has heard anything! thanks!

Yes they have. When I was interviewing for L&D I was waiting with a girl who was about to interview for NICU and she had 3 friends that had also interviewed for Nicu residency

Depends on the hospital. Most Internships are for New Grads. some hospitals require you to apply for a residency if you want to change your scope of practice but not all. The residency just means there will be classroom time and clinical time, but you still get payed as if you were a nurse on the floor. They are usually about 6-10 weeks. It should not affect you getting a job if you have experience.

Thats awesome! My interview went really well I think, there are just sooo many applicants so I am trying not read into it one way or the other. They said they were taking between 15-17! which is great cause in years past they have only taken 4-8! Hope your interview goes well, look forward to hearing about it!

No I didnt. I applied to other residency's but have only heard back from L&D. I called and asked them about the status of my application and the first thing they asked was if I went to the orientation. So it sounds like the majority of their interviews come from that. Disappointing. If you do not go to nursing school in the DFW area it is way harder to attend the orientation!

Anyone heard back from THR women's services residency, or Parkland L&D?

I heard back from UTSW and Parkland. Baylor canceled their L&D intern position and Texas health resources takes forever to hear back from! ahh I want a job!

I applied for the L&D 2012 residency at Parkland and found out on March 8th that I got an interview. Has anyone else had their interview, or know how soon before you hear back from them after the interview? Also, does anyone know how many people they usually hire? I really want the job, but I know how competitive it is! Any feedback about the residency and hiring process would be much appreciated! Thanks!!
