Med/surg patient worksheet
Hi there! I will be working in a medical/surgical floor starting next week and I feel ambivalent about it since I really don't know if I can survive there or not. I just hope that I'd do. Anyways, can you send me a copy of your worksheet? I'm sure that would really help a lot. [email protected]. thanks!

Safety while on BT
I have a question to ask regarding giving medication while blood transfusion is on going. I had a case one time in which the patient has an ongoing Blood transfusion and her ranitidine needs to be given at that certain time. Now, I told my colleague that I will just give the medication after her BT because I felt it wasn't appropriate to interrupt the transfusion. But then, she told me that it is still okay to give the drug provided that I flush the blood after the port and give the medication and flush again and after that, continue with the transfusion. I am really confused as to whether she is right and I was wrong or vice versa. Just that, I'm just concerned about the blood that will be interrupted thinking that if I kink the tubing, maybe there will be a possibility that the blood would hemolyse or whatsoever. I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you for taking time.

DAR Notes | Comprehensive Guide with Examples
Thank you! I have a follow-up question. How about if the patient has several problems like you had in your examples, is it necessary to separate each problem and then proceed with the next? In the ward, where I am assigned at, I observed that my colleagues just write everything under Data like the assessment, the problems etc. and in the Action all of the things that they did in response to Data were also written under it. Is this correct?

OB/L&D nurses, some input, please...
Hi! What you did was right. Never think of yourself as an idiot. The nurse who's been there with you were! I really hate it when nurses act that way! She should be educated again! Sue her if you want, girl! She's been paid for her work and yet, she doesn't treat the patients they were supposed to be treated! With care and dignity! If this has to happen to you the next time, tell that nurse or anyone who will act mean to you that if they don't like they're job, then simply QUIT! hahahah!!! and report the behavior to the supervisor! :)

I need Help regarding my situation right now
Hi! I would like to thank everyone for responding to this post. I very much appreciate your response. Yeah, with that you all said, I realized that I was just prideful to think that doing an attendant's job is an insult to my profession. Well, you're right..since I am still new in the department, I still have to learn the routine. Thank you so much! God bless yoU!

I need Help regarding my situation right now
Hi! I would just like to share up my situation at the moment. To start with, I've been a registered nurse for 1 year already and I got 6 months training in a private hospital as a volunteer...and just recently, I got hired in a government hospital as an employee under some program..and what concerns me is that...my superior assigned me in an orthopedic department since one of the attendants is on leave; so she wanted me to assume the role of the attendant temporarily until she comes back after 1 month. So, I accepted the offer but to be honest, I really pity myself because I feel like I am just their helper wherein they can command me to get something from the pharmacy or to this and that...and it's so insulting for me. if this happens to you, what would you do?

doubting yourself as a nurse
Hi! Sorry to bother you..I am just curious what "collective complacency" really mean? Thank you.
