Yerda82- I really appreciate your honesty. I came across some of the more frustrating aspects you mentioned from reading previous posts and reviews. Personally, I'd rather know what it's really like for the actual students, so that I can be as prepared as possible. My family works largely in the medical field, mostly SoCal, some NorCal. Please PM me about your specific situation and I'll see if we know anyone who could help you with your preceptorship. I'd be happy to help if I can! Hang in there.

Hi yerda82! Thanks for offering to answer questions from the newbies My first question is, basically, how do you feel about the program? And how does the second year compare to the first? Do people pretty much get placed in the tracks they want (type of NP specialty or otherwise)? And do you have to find your own preceptors for the master's clinicals? I'm sure I'll have other questions as time goes on. Hope to meet you around the department or campus!

Congrats monmon87! So glad you are joining us in June. I haven't heard if anyone else is looking for a roommate yet. It seems like some are just commuting from the LA area, or are married/already living with someone. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Looking forward to meeting you at orientation too :)

Welcome to allnurses.com janeh and yumm! I would like to connect with everyone but don't use FB...I have a thing about internet privacy, but I might have to get over that! I did start a gmail address which would be private to cohort 9 and that could be a way to start communicating privately: [email protected] I'll forward emails to everyone who emails me, so we can get a "reply to all" situation started. Let me know if y'all have better ideas about communicating :loveya: I am indeed worried about loans to cover tuition and living expenses! Have to start getting my financial aid info in order with CSULA and the banks!

Congrats to those who were called or emailed! This program is my first choice, though I won't hear from CSUF until April 20. So I will definitely be joining this cohort! Yay! I know that the director wants responses by April 2 (Monday) so maybe there is an alternate list at play. Don't give up hope yet if you feel that CSULA is the place for you. I believe that things work out for the best if your heart is really in it.Good luck and hugs to all: admitted or still waiting...

YES! I just got the acceptance call from the director. :) So excited!!! I didn't ask her any questions because I was so happy so I don't know what the cohort size is for 2012, etc. She said she will be sending emails this afternoon/evening as well. Anyone else? I can't wait to meet our cohort very soon!!
