  1. Congrats to you! I am proof too it can be done. Passed CPNE 2 weeks ago and waiting to book NCLEX!
  2. I hope you called back and were able to save some more$$. My paperwork did say the Excelsior College rate, and your welcome!
  3. When I called the hotel I will be staying at, I called the hotels direct # even though it was a Holiday Inn and asked for the Excelsior College rate. They found their code, no problem. I would try that and maybe save a little more. At this point any savings is good.
  4. I actually just put the application in yesterday(5/17). I put a ready date of 7/31, hoping for Albany or Utica in August or September. I been reading your posts about Syracuse so I just checked off Albany & Utica. How long after you sent it in did it take to get a date?
  5. I wound recommend taking the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP test. It is 6 credits and all you have to do is read a passage and answer questions related to what you read. There is no way to study since you don't know what poems or literature will be on the test. Just be mindful of the time because it goes by quickly. You can sign up on the CLEP website and take it at a local college and for 6 credits it's worth it.
  6. That is so great, CONGRATULATIONS!! Give some info & hints when you get chance.
  7. Hi,when did send in your application and how long did it take to receive the date?
  8. Tasha did you use the online workshop from Sheri?
  9. I am trying to decide which workshop to go between Excelsiors and Sheri Taylors, or if I should purchase Sheri Taylor online or Robs study guides. I want help preparing the best way and I don't know which way to go. Wouldn't going directly through Excelsior be the best way since it's straight from the horses mouth? Any input will help. Thanks in advance.
  10. They also will require you to take the information literacy but definitely take it through Penn foster for 70.00 well worth it and very simple to do. You get everything you need right after you pay.
  11. Hi Boston nurse, I currently am in long term care & rehab in Revere. I just took that CLEP last week at North Shore Community College. I found that there was not enough time to really think to hard about the questions there is a lot of reading. There is really no way to study for it it's all analyzing what they give you for poems and play writings. I just winged it and someone got the highest score my advisor at excelsior has seen in a long time. Don't spend to much time on each ? Just give you best answer because the time goes by very fast. If English is your first language you should be fine. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else because the ? Are deep and really require to read English and know what they mean the way they write. There are 78 ? and they only score you on the ones that are right and you have to get at least 50.
  12. Bostonnurse, I am hoping to test July or Aug in ny probably Albany since it will be closest. Where are you in Boston I'm in Saugus.
  13. Thanks Lunah,I just passed my FCCA today and all that's left is CPNE.
  14. Hi Buckshot, you will be able to take exams while on the payment plan. As soon as you enroll you can take the rest of the nursing exams no matter which type of payment you do.
  15. I've been reading all these Posts about practicing and writing care plans for the CPNE, do they have to be written without using books? I feel it's kind of a dumb question but I guess if I have to write care plans off the top of my head I need to know.
