  1. Hi, I'm a new grad as well and have been looking for a job for what seems like forever. I've been applying to every job posting in Ontario and have one experienced nurse friend that got me in contact with her old manager but nothing came out of it. Do you have any tips you could share on how to get an interview? Any help is much appreciated!
  2. I'm in the YorkU program right now. People in my program have had placements in both downtown Toronto and throughout the GTA, it mostly depends on where you live. You should probably do some research to find out more about the clinical rotations each program offers. At York we do LTC, rehab, med-surg, community, mental health or paeds (it's one or the other, and you do not get to pick) , and then IP/consolidation in the unit of your choice. I am not 100% sure but I think UofT does maternity, and both mental health and paeds as well. Most importantly, I think you should speak to someone who is currently in their first year because they'll be writing the NCLEX as opposed to the CRNE (this Oct is the last CRNE). I don't know for sure, but I am assuming that the content of the courses has been changed to better prepare students for the NCLEX.
  3. I got accepted there in early March but turned down the offer today. The last day to accept for Trent is June 1st, so hopefully more spots will open afterwards. Good luck~
  4. Thanks for the kind words hsamimi and Dash88! I just checked MyFile and it says I got admitted!! I'll be accepting the offer once my application on OUAC updates.
  5. Thanks TobeNursey! My cumulative GPA is a low B, and my GPA in the last 30 credits is a high B+. I completed my last prereq last month and will be graduating with a BSc in Biology in June. Although my grades aren't very competitive I'm hoping that I'll get accepted after my grades from last semester are finalized, which will be on May 20th.
  6. I'm still waiting for an offer. @TobeNursey: When was the last day for you to accept the offer? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what was your gpa in the last 10 courses, did you complete all of the prereqs by the time you applied, and do you already hold a degree? Thanks in advance~
  7. Who did you talk to? I called admissions 2-3 weeks ago and they said they haven't sent any acceptances out yet and don't plan to until May. I'm starting to worry now...
  8. I received a conditional offer from them a month ago and I have until June 1st to accept it.
  9. I just called the admissions office at York and they said that acceptances won't be given out until May. Yay more waiting...
  10. I haven't heard back from York either. The York open house is next week, so it would be reasonable for acceptances to be sent out before then, right? That's if they haven't already done so...
  11. I got a conditional offer from Trent last week, but I'm still waiting to hear back from McMaster and York.
