  1. Awesome! I interviewed yesterday and they called about 10 min after I left to offer the position. I was really excited! 240zRN it looks like I have no news to report on the housing situation. We had a wide price range we were looking in and only about 8 houses to look at (none of which were ideal and all were insanely overpriced) We ended up settling on a new construction home that won't be finished until the beginning of July. They told us that there really are no apartments available and the ones that do come up and insanely expensive. I'm hoping I can find an extended stay hotel to room in while they are finishing my house and before my husband comes down. They said those can even go for $300 a night. It is a crazy situation down there
  2. I will definitely let you know if I find out anything while I am down there this weekend. I have heard nothing but awful things about the housing situation. I interview on Monday for the ICU, I'm crossing my fingers that it goes well! I'm really nervous because I put all of my eggs in one basket with this hospital. Did they offer you the position right away or did it take a few days?
  3. They were telling me about that on the phone the other day. She told me they were working on temporary housing. My husband and I are heading down to house hunt this weekend and the housing market in definitely different than it is up here in Oklahoma! 240zRN what area did you choose to go into for the program?
  4. Finadul, I actually was able to get everything in and have an interview with Midland Memorial next week! I'm really excited and hope it all works out! What area are you interested in?
  5. I am relocating to the Midland/Odessa area next month....I just found out today that my husband is getting transferred. I just graduated RN school this week with an associates and start my online BSN through a university here in Oklahoma in August. I will be licensed in Oklahoma but I am applying for endorsement as soon as I receive my license. I have been looking today at jobs in the area. Does anyone know what the job market is like for new grads in the area, especially if they are from out of state?
  6. Oklahoma Panhandle State University has an online program and they wave out of state tuition. It is only $104/ credit hour
  7. I am currently in the exact same position. I am taking the NCLEX in June- the same month we are relocating to Houston for my husband's job. Now I am worried about my application not even getting looked at because I am a new grad from Oklahoma when there are all of these people from the area that have been working the entire time they are in school to get into these hospitals.
  8. Congratulations!
  9. I am devastated my husband got transferred to Houston for his job. We should be moving in June. I am graduating in May with my ADN. I am currently in the 7th month of an externship and had a guaranteed job with the hospital I am currently at. Now I started looking at the job market in Houston and found out it is virtually impossible to get hired without a BSN. My question is will the fact I am directly enrolling in an RN-BSN program help? What about the fact I have been working on a floor in the hospital for 7 months? I have ruled out all of the major Houston hospitals until I get my BSN, but do I have luck in places like Sugar Land or Katy? Should I start applying now even if I can't start until May? I have so many questions, my world was just turned upside down. I can't be excited for the move until I know I have a job
