Just wondering if there were any LPNs who worked in Psych and what a day in your life is like.
  2. What made you leave the at home job you had?
  3. Do you study the Craft?
  4. Just have a strong pull in that direction. Not quite sure why. I do have a great deal of respect and fondness for Native American culture. I have done quite a bit of research about N.A. in my own area and the also the Dine people around Arizona, which is where I would hopefully be working. Why do you ask?
  5. Very informative stuff, thanks!
  6. Thank you all so much for your answers and your honesty. It was very encouraging :)
  7. Hey, I was just wondering if anyone had worked on any of the Indian Reservations and what your experience was like? Can an LPN work on a Reservation or is this strictly an RN job only? Just curious, as this is something I would really like to do some day. Please, feel free to share your experiences, advice, suggestions..etc.
  8. Do you have any inside info that you would like to share w/ pre-nursing students? For example, forgive me, but I didn't know it was common decency to give up your seat for a nurse if you are a student. I did not know that students were not allowed to sit. Things like this can effect a situation very much. I was just wondering, is there any other inside info that you could share for someone going in? Stuff that may seem like common sense, but to someone who is unfamiliar w/ things it may not be? Sometimes people aren't necessarily rude or uncouth, but maybe...just ignorant as to how better to conduct themselves. So, teachers, what, in your opinion makes a good student, what makes an excellent one? What can a student do to stand out and how can a student make the absolute most of their nursing school experience?
  9. I'm 27...been a stay at home mom since I was 19, married at 18
  10. You're naturally an introvert, prefer to be alone and really don't like interacting with other people..But, still have a desire to help people in a way that will genuinely help them? Just wondering what anyone's opinion this might be...
  11. gave me chill bumps just reading that. Thanks
  12. I have seen and heard so many horror stories about nursing, specifically LTC. Just wanted to maybe change the mood a bit so here's my question... What do you Like about your job? Is there anything you LOVE about it? What are the perks not only in your career, but also your life outside of work. Does nursing give you the kind of life you hoped for? C'mon, tell me somethin' good!
  13. Hello all, I'm just going to put it all out there. I'm poor, as a matter of fact, according to statistics...I am living below poverty. I don't want much in life, but I DO want to buy a nice home for my family to live. I was just wondering if being an LPN provides you w/ steady work and a steady pay check. I know there are variables to every circumstance, but in general, is nursing a good career for someone to take care of their family and home? Has anyone else been in my position, completely destitute, became a nurse and now your life is better? Advice/suggestions/experiences welcome...Thank you!
  14. Did you get the job? If so how is it going for you? I too have been a stay at home mom and haven't worked in several yrs. Your experiences would be very interesting to know. BTW, where do u live and if u took the job what sort of facility is it?
  15. Did you take the job? How is it going? I'm in south Ga, but have always wanted to live in NC..specifically the Cullowhee area or Western NC...I'm just curious as to how things have been going for you
  16. I'm not a nurse, but considering LPN school. I have read posts on here and other places online talking about LTC is about the only place that LPN's can work, however, most things I have read talk about the horrible conditions of the facility, evil corporate ethic, patient overload, not enough help...Anyone work in LTC or have worked in LTC in the past? What were your experiences? Good/bad or indifferent..I'm just curious to know what I might be walking into...Thanks for your time!
  17. Hello, I'm 26 w/ three small children. I'm married. I have been a stay at home mom for the past several yrs now and I have not had a full time job since before my daughter was born. I was considering going to LPN school as we need to save money to move into our own place. I was just wondering if any of you nurses were first stay at home mommies and then decided to become a nurse. Please share your experiences/advice/suggestions. Thank you very much and I look forward to reading your responses!
