  1. Congrats to all who have heard of their acceptance! My question is, has anyone heard of being waitlisted or rejected? I sent 2 emails and called and it seems I'm being ignored. I have to send in my deposit to Simmons by April 16th, and while I'm happy to go there, it's WAY more money. I'm assuming I was rejected, but at this point it would just be nice to know! =P
  2. Hi Greg, you bring up a good point and that's why Simmons wasn't one of my top choices. That being said, I didn't even apply to Regis based on its poor reviews. I know Simmons has a very positive reputation. At the information session at Simmons this issue was brought up, and the faculty made not having a BSN seem somewhat negligible. I can't remember exactly what was said, but I do know many amazing RNs that work as RNs that do not have a BSN. In my opinion, and I may be bias given that I'm going to Simmons, it's not worth it to go to a lower-rated program just because they award a BSN. I'm sure Simmons is very up to date with the hiring trends and requirements in the nursing field. They want their graduates to succeed and would not want to make things difficult for us. And like I said, they discussed this issue at length at the info session, and they truly stressed it as a non-issue. I think you should definitely call/email them for more information if you are concerned, im sure they'd be happy to assist you in your decision. Hope that helps!
  3. Well, both are great schools, so good luck with the decision!! I'm sure you'll make the right one!
  4. Htieuster, MGH is a great school! It was actually my top choice over Simmons, but I'm on the wait list. I wish we could switch places!! I'm excited for Simmons but it starts a little too early for me, that's why I wanted to go to MGH. I feel bad only giving my work a month's notice. Tilly, I can't seem to find the Facebook group. Is it a "page" or a "group" or something else? I'll keep looking...
  5. Might I also add that for me it was a small envelope. I didn't really want to open it, immediately flashing back to my small MGH and Northeastern envelopes which left me feeling upset. But this time I was pleasantly surprised! Phew!@Amy, I'm going to take the Organic Chem in the summer cluster as well. We will get through it!
  6. @eromero, my application was deemed "incomplete" because I needed to submit two more transcripts. I got them in on 3/14, and I just got my acceptance letter yesterday. So even if yours was "late" I'm sure you'll get your decision letter soon! They don't call or email, it's a letter.
  7. Thanks htieuster! Congrats on getting in to MGH! That was one of my top choices, and I was waitlisted. I'm super thrilled about Simmons but I'm dreading the intensive Orgo class I'll have to take =/
  8. @Barbara, I feel for you! It was a total self-esteem kicker for me, and I'm having a hard time bringing myself back up. But in the end, it's their loss, we're still going to become fantastic FNPs no matter what!
  9. Hah, it does smell a little fishy! Maybe it's because I designated that I wanted to follow the Family NP track, which the hybrid doesn't offer. When you applied, did you specify a specialty? I don't think the application required you to, so maybe they are contacting qualified applicants who are still deciding on which specialty to pursue? Either that or I simply scared them away! I was feeling super bummed all weekend, but I just received an acceptance letter to Simmons, so I really can't complain at this point! Seeing as I was waitlisted at MGH and I need to send my deposit to Simmons by April 16th, (also haven't heard anything from UMASS) I will most likely be attending Simmons starting this May. It just feels so good to be wanted somewhere! =P
  10. I just got my acceptance letter from Simmons today, and I can't even explain how ecstatic I am! I need to take Organic Chemistry at some point before the program, and will most likely take it in the summer cluster (that terrifies me, but I'll do what I have to do!) I was waitlisted at one program, rejected from another, and haven't heard anything from the last program I applied to, so I think I'll definitely be attending Simmons at this rate!
  11. Were all of you who are considering the online program contacted by NEU? Or did you initiate the contact? I was rejected from the traditional pathway, so I'm assuming if they would accept me into the online program they would contact me... Thanks!
  12. @gglove, thanks for the support. It was a total bummer being rejected from NEU because having being offered an interview I feel as if I developed a sense of false hope. The hybrid is intriguing, however most people being considered are being contacted it seems, and I haven't been. I've also heard the program is for "nursing administration" which I'm not interested in! Congrats on being accepted into Jefferson! At this point I'm panicking because I'm waiting on 2 schools, and if I don't get in I have no other options.
  13. Unfortunately gglove is right, because I had an interview at NEU and I was rejected from the program. I also still haven't heard a peep from UMASS.
  14. I got my letter today too. Flat-out rejected. At least I know, I suppose. Though I wish we all could go, at least we're not alone. My status wasn't updated online either.
  15. I'm literally refreshing the application page every 10 minutes!! Scratch that, every 5 minutes. Jenki, I'm so jealous you have another option to pursue. I applied to 4 schools and am waitlisted at 1, an have yet to hear from 3 (NEU being my top choice). If I don't get accepted anywhere im going to jump off a cliff, and then move somewhere tropical and maybe try a less "direct" route to becoming an NP. And probably adopt a few cats. = P
