Any nurses with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)?
I know this is VERY late in the game, but I'm a nurse with ASD/ASC (we prefer "Condition," not "Disorder"). I do very well in my areas: oncology, hospice, palliative care, clinical trials, research. I do NOT do well in trauma or ED (too fast paced). I'm hoping that since it's been over a decade since you posted this that you actually went to nursing school and are doing well. :)

Mayo Arizona RN Residency 2014
I met someone today whose status moved from "Application Received" to "Under Review." That could mean "Application Received" applicants might not be moving on. I submitted mine the very first day it opened (4/3) just before noon. This person also told me that they were going to cap the applications at 600. Not sure if mine ended up in that 600. Keep looking... :)

Any updates? It's been almost three weeks since applying.

Mine still says "Application Received." Hearsay: 1200 people applied (that could be an exaggeration).

Northridge Versant Program 2013
I know it's been a while, but did you ever hear back from them? My application status yesterday said, "Manager review in progress." Today it says, "Manager review." (period). I think it means my application was rejected at that status.

ASU Post-Bacc Nursing Program 2013
Hi. Does anyone know if classes run all day or just half day? My childcare situation backed out, and I need to find new care. Any clue??

ASU Post-Bacc Nursing Program 2013
I just called the office and she said the letters went out today. We should know no later than Tuesday. If we don't make it, we actually can apply for the summer "regular" program? Does anyone know if that's correct? Let me know. Thanks! Hillary :)

----------- is an awesome advisor. She told me the same thing about GPAs and TEAS scores. Also, she said the essays should be real, relevant, and concrete (no wordiness, flowery language, irrelevant stuff, etc.). With all that being said, though, there are 80 applications and 40 spots. So.... I guess we should all worry about getting an A in Pathophys. But should we really?? It's not going to be considered for getting in since the decisions will be made this Friday and the class isn't over until December. Hmmm. I'll still worry, though, that's just who I am. Hillary :)

Here is the email we received: Thank you for submitting your placement application packet for consideration to the spring 2013 Post-Baccalaureate Clinical Nursing Program (PBCNP). In the next few weeks, you will receive information from the Undergraduate Student Academic Services Office concerning the review of your placement packet. At that time we will ask you to verify placement information and contact us to make any corrections. If any of the materials required for a complete placement packet are missing, you will be receiving notice of the withdrawal of your request for placement. You will also be required to read, sign, and return two forms relating to the background screening and fingerprint clearance requirements for participating in the clinical experience. These are additional statements that relate to the supplemental requirements you will be required to submit if you are advanced into the TPCNP. It is imperative that you check your email inbox and junk/spam folder regularly for communications from our office. If you have questions, please call the Undergraduate Student Academic Services Office at 602-496-0888.

ASU Post-Bacc Nursing Program 2013
I just called the office to ask if the letters were sent out, and the receptionist said they were still reviewing applications and it could be up until the end of the month before we see anything. It will be a hard-copy letter of acceptance, not an email. Hillary

How important is a msn in education?
Because you have content knowledge (in nursing) does not necessarily mean you have pedagogical knowledge (how to teach), let alone pedagogical content knowledge (how to teach nursing). Education courses are very important. Hillary S., Ed.D. (in education, not nursing)

Ph.D or EdD
The Ph.D. is theoretical and best suited in academia. It is very research-and-publish oriented. The Ed.D. is more "application" to be used in the field (i.e., "on location"). It would be best suited for teaching. The DNP is relatively new and takes into account practice at a higher level (you might want to look at that one). Hillary S., Ed.D. (in education, not nursing).

Hey, Ziggy. When you say placement packets, do you mean letters that say whether we're in or not? H :)
-

No. We're not supposed to hear anything excepts whether we've gotten in or not yet. H :)

SAHM's or other busy people - time management tips
I get up an hour before the kids, and stay up an hour after they go to bed. I don't have any in-laws/babysitters in town, so I send them to summer/winter "camps" where they play for four hours a day, five days a week when they're on school break. My husband will take them out for four hours on a Sat/Sun. I homeschool one of my kids (I have two, the other is in preschool 3x/wk), so these are the only ways I can really get my own time in.
