  1. Wow, that's quite a long program. I honestly thought it was only 4 semesters long.
  2. No new questions, just wanted to say congrats on finishing the second semester!! Im so happy for you! I ended up getting accepted to the BSN program of my choice! Im now all set to move away from my home town for the First Time and leave the only apartmet ive ever known in my adult life, but I'm SOOO excited! Howprogram was only 2 years long, so does that mean your clinicals arent included in that time frame? I'm hoping to get in to Columbia's program when I finish nursing school and get experience. Also was thinking about applying for the neurology ICU, but can't remember If that's an acceptable form of experience or not. Can't wait to hear back! This is my favorite thread!
  3. known in my adult life, but I'm SOOO excited! Now I'm a bit your clinicals arent included in that time frame then? It seems youre taking 4 semesters of classes plus the clinicals. This is news to me if thats the case! I'm hoping to get in to Columbia's program when I finish nursing school and get experience. Also was thinking about applying for the neurology ICU, but can't remember If that's an acceptable form of experience or not. Can't wait to hear back! This is my favorite thread!
  4. do you possibly have any other word documents you could send me? these two were very helpful, but i'd like more. i'm entering a bsn program this fall :)
  5. hmm... i think i'd prefer to have a MSNA over an MSN. I'll have to make sure i do some more research. I know i was interested in staying in ny (born and raised) so Columbia is my top choice as of right now (despite the high cost!) Anyway, thanks for your help and information about the BSN. I actually just got accepted to a BSN program for this fall, and because i dont have a degree in nursing yet it's the perfect option for me. I'm completely skipping the associate's and going right for the gold! Hopefully it will help me get into critical care right after graduation.
  6. Well, i figured i'd post back to this form and update: I was accepted to the school of my choice!! I haven't heard back from the other two places i applied yet, but it doesn't matter because I'm brockport bound! yayyyy!!!
  7. I do know they only accept a limited number of transfer students, and that they prefer students who go there with nursing intent. That's part of the reason why I was soooooo nervous!!! I'm so glad the anxiety is over with! What pre requisites do you have left?
  8. its not nerdy to write a list of questions, its great to be prepared!! And what is this grapevine you're speaking of? I'd love to find out of it's true. i Hope it isss!! hehehe, i'd feel soo special! Brockport is actually known for being one of the more selective public schools anyways!
  9. http://www.brockport.edu/nursing/docs/suggested_program_office_use_only.pdf This is our schedule for the next two years!!!
  10. you know what i didn't even read that pre orientation paper we got with our acceptance letter because I was too excited, but i read it earlier today and we're going to have a chance to talk to current students i guess! I'm sure i won't remember to ask all of these questions on the top of my head though! Being on the spot makes it easier to forget things!
  11. You have to leave 15 quality posts before they allow you to Private message. Probably a few more replys to me on this thread will do it! lol.
  12. Ok, i have the ability to private message, so i'll send you one and hopefully it will let you reply!! :)
  13. I've just been accepted into Brockport's 2012 fall program! I couldn't possibly be happier! I'd loveeeee to hear from anyone who went through this program and get every possible detail you can think of!! What was it like? Is there anything you wish someone told you about the program to be prepared for prior to entering it that would have made you more ready? What's the most challenging part of the program? Were you able to get job placement right out of school? Did the college help you with finding a position? How do you like the teaching hospitals? And any other information you may think of that I forgot to mention! Anything will be appreciated!
  14. Yes!!! Thanks! I'm so excited!! See you then! Feel free to message me if there's anything you want to talk about!!! Questions, concerns, etc..
