  1. I live in Camelia trace. Several other students in my class do as well. I love it. Some live in Cherry Grove, but they say it can be loud.
  2. Is this in Birmingham? I know several practicing CRNA's in Alabama and this isn't happening anywhere they work.
  3. You may want to think of a different career direction then. If you don't have the motivation to be a CRNA you won't make it through school. A good living won't be enough motivation. If the change to a doctorate puts you off this much then you probably don't want to be a CRNA badly enough.
  4. The best thing that I can say is get your time management down. Once you have your time managed well, you will be able to handle the high volume about to come your way. Before you start school take time off and relax!
  5. I took the very unconventional route of lpn>adn>bsn and now in a DNP program. Also from the OR to ICU. Anything is possible. Good luck, you got this if you keep your eyes on the prize.
  6. I am a student at Union right now. I'm in the DNP program. I love it! The teachers are awesome and very easy to get in touch with. The students ahead of me say they get around 1000 cases before graduating. We go to Memphis and Vanderbilt for the big teaching hospitals as well as CRNA only practice hospitals. They say it's a really good mix. They also have military recruiters come talk with us if you are interested in that. I'm from Alabama and I moved to Jackson and my wife and child are still in Alabama. It's working ok right now.
  7. I think they said in February. I'm not 100% sure but I believe that's when they are doing the next one.
  8. Congrats everyone!! This is very exciting. Union is a wonderful place! You'll love it here.
  9. If I remember correctly you'll get a phone call within 2 weeks if you are accepted. Good luck!
  10. I have class in the afternoon. I'm going to be helping Tuesday with interviews.
  11. I remember how I was before the interview. You don't have to prepare for anything. They asked about a certain pump and I'd never used it before. I was just honest with them. Don't be too confident, they like humble.
  12. It's great! I go to class 4 days a week right now. It's a lot of work but I'm learning a lot also. I would be glad to mentor you.
  13. The only clinical question I had was, what kind of pumps do you use?
  14. I think they look for people who will fit in there with their beliefs.
  15. I sure do. I'm in the DNP program as we speak. They have students wait with you before you interview so you can ask questions. Everyone is very nice, you will love the instructors.
