NCLEX study tips out of school. Finally recieved ATT 9 months after graduating.
From my understanding, they shouldn't be.. unless they are warrants, in which I had, and a very long list of tickets :s Back in September I sent a letter with my application explaining those tickets that had become warrants and other tickets on my record from my adolescence. I believe I had one from being at a party where there was alcohol, even though I wasn't drinking. Anyway a friend and some teachers advised me to send the letter that way the BON would see that I was responsible and aware of my adolescence infringements. I am not sure if it helped or back fired, but a couple months later I received a letter that it was being forwarded to the enforcement department. I was so distraught.. I thought it was ridiculous as I am a very caring person and hardly ever go out. Anyway 9 months later I am very pleased to receive my ATT! Sometimes God makes us wait, to strengthen us and mold us into what He wants us to be.. that’s how I look at it :) Have you graduated? Hopefully others will reply with some helpful studying tips!

NCLEX study tips out of school. Finally recieved ATT 9 months after graduating.
Hello, I am so happy I finally received my ATT for the NCLEX after waiting 9 looong months! They investigated my background, as I had many traffic tickets etc.. I have been studying on and off for the last months, but not as I probably should. Now that I received the ATT, I really want to buckle down and dedicate all my time to studying. I was thinking of taking the Kaplan online review and wanted to ask when it would be a good time to take it? or how much in advance to taking the exam. Should I self-study first, take the online course then the exam or vice versa? Any other recommendations on studying after being out of school for a while? Should I review all my material or focus on NCLEX questions (such as those from the ATI)? I would greatly appreciate any tips or recommendations!! Thank you!

what is an okay GPA to put on your resume?
Thank you for your advice LaeDeesNP, it definitely helped. I will leave it out then. It threw me off that an someone stated that it would be suspicious not to state it, which made me worried. I agree that it would be best to leave it out, especially because it is included in the online application. Thanks for the reassurance!

(UCLA msn-ap) I have to upload my resume online, however already provided my jr/sr gpa on another section of the application. my gpa isn't very competitive.. So I am not sure if stating it will hinder my chances or will look suspicious if don't state it. Please Help!!!

UCLA's NP program...
Hello, I came across this thread while searching for some advice on applying to UCLA. I am applying to the MSN-AP program for this fall and was wondering if you all have any tips you could offer as far as professors or in writting my Statement of Purpose. I am currently working on it and am having trouble writting on why I chose UCLA. Its obvious that is one of the best nursing schools.. but Im not sure what else to write about the program. Can anyone offer any tips on what the program has to offer or what professors are great role models? I am applying for PNP (Pediatrics). Any comments would greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

Declaratory order to Texas BON
Hello all, I am new to this forum.. I am very worried and sought for a little extra help, advice and support. I graduated in August 2011 from a nursing school here in texas with a bachelor of science in nursing. Before begining my application process to the BON I printed my record and was suprised on what I saw.. there were violations from over 10 years ago. I began my application process shortly after graduating as I wrote a letter explaining my offenses.. most including traffic violations that turned in to warrants that were later paid, and in one case was arrested then paid for the fines. I had theft under 50 from when I was 14 when a friend of mine got caught stealing and I help took the blame, I noted this on my letter to the BON. I had alcohol miner in possesion when police showed up at a party and I was not even drinking. alcohol detectable under 21 was also on my record from another occasion when I was driving and my friends were drinking.. it is noted as non-prosacutable on my record, as to where they could not prove I was drinking, and I was not. I sent in my application along with the explanatory letter in september. Today I recieved a letter stating I too need to pay the 150 and my file will be fowarded to enforcement department. I ask WHY? I wrote and extensive letter and do not understand what the enforcement department needs to follow up on It has already almost been 3 months since I graduated and the letter says it can take a minimum of 4 months!! will I even remember all the information obtained in nursing school?? I am so worried. I feel I have the worse luck ever. I am a dedicated person and joined nursing to care for people.. and now have these obtacles, even after I was able to survive nursing school. Can anyone offer me advice or support if they were in a similar situation. It would greatly be appreciated!!
