  1. Lately, a number of major hospitals in NY are acquiring community hospitals. Like Hudson Valley Hospital was recently acquired by New York Presbeterian, White plains hospital by Montifiero, I believe....etc. Am curious to know how the RNs salaries and Benefits have been affected in these community hospitals having joined these major hospitals.
  2. Did you ever get into Lehman FNP program? If so, how is it? Program? Administration? clinicals? Can you work at the same time? I just applied for spring 2015. Hope I get in.
  3. I am not in school anymore. I had two med errors in a nursing home that was reported to the office of professional conduct by the company. The case is still in progress but I've been asked to take an independent med math.
  4. HI, I am an RN, looking for an independent organisation offering an RN Med/Math test. I have tried googling but all that i get and practice sites in preparation for a test. Does anyone know anywhere that i could register and take the test independently? Your help will highly be appreciated. THX
  5. Getting into the program is very competetive. They take 100 in generic program and maybe another 40 in accelerated and RN pathway. Join the hunter college at least for a semester, do your nln, make sure you have all your prerequisite then apply to the nursing program. Try to maintain a GPA above 3.6. The theory part of the education is really nice, and that will help you with nclex a lot. I would however find externships, or some kind of nursing skills from a nursing home or some kind of hospital coz the school isn't that great in clinical preparation. You have them in these big hospitals for their clinical rotations but they dont let you do much. They take care of at most 2 patients and very few clinical instructors are serious in maiking sure the students actually get the experience they need. I know of many hunter students who have been let go by the hospitals after orientation, because they could not handle the work. For some students however, they are lucky to get externships from those major hospitals who train them well and keep them to work for them after passing nclex but most of these students have atleast a 3.5 gpa. So by all means join hunter coz its great, but find your own experience somewhere. They dont give you enough practical experience.
  6. Wow, i didnt go there yet. Am officially disappointed. Maybe i should just go look at the houses physically. I was relying on the floor plans and pictures that they emailed me. Thanks a lot.
  7. I found something and am already doing the paper work. Lynn kind of recommended it. The place is Briarcrest Gardens. Just google apartments near penn state hershey mc and you will see it on the list.
  8. It sure will. Am so nervous about it. Its like my nerves fire each step of this process. It's a whole new place, new people, new in the career, and the list goes on and on. But am sure, we all will be fine and in safe hands.
  9. That's a good idea KittyinNj. Is there a way we cool have Lynn connect us? I wasn't really sure of the safety of this site, so I did not put my real contacts or email address on this website. But i could email Lynn and tell her my ID is Kiatu10 trying to reach your ID with your permission, that way we communicate. Sounds long of a stretch but, better safe.
  10. I accepted mine to and am working on the PA licence now. Hope i will get it soon. I applied for both temporary and permanent. Am hoping finding housing out there wont be a problem.
  11. Great am happy for you. That means more emails are coming soon.
  12. When I spoke to Lynn during the introduction period, she said we should hear from them by the mid of the week. So i think its more of a departmental delay hence emails coming out in bits too. So I would still just hold onto the candle. More emails are coming.
  13. I was kind of hoping that everyone I've been chatting with here got in. Did anyone else get that email? Maybe they just sent out ones for critical care but others are yet to come.
  14. CHECK YOUR EMAILS GUY'S, I AM OFFICIALLY IN!!!!! I hated the wait. They offered me both 4 and 6 acute:yeah::dancgrp:
