Hey! Which review did you wind up taking?

I have just taken my NCLEX for the 4th time since I graduated last May, so I understand your frustration. That test is ridiculous. Anyway, I had taken ready to pass last summer and I would recommend it to anyone. It had a clear focus on what was important, and a lot of easy ways to remember. I personally benefit from pneumonics and different sayings to help remember things and ready to pass did exactly that. I know that doesn't sound too assuring after I just said I took NCLEX 4 times, but the first 3x it shut off at 75 because I must've known too little, and this last time I got all 265, and sat for 5 hours. Talk about frustrating. Anyway, it's about knowing to answer the questions which you'be learned from Kaplan, and a good knowledge of the material. May I also suggest signing up for th NCSBN review online. It helped me a lot answering questions, and gave a lot of practice questions along with material to study. It's pretty inexpensive compared to ready to pass and Kaplan, but again I would definitely take ready to pass.

I just took my NCLEX RN today again for the fourth time and no pop up. I got hit with all 265 questions and it took me 5 hours. I am really at a loss for what to do next. This time was the only time I ever exceeded 75 questions, so I had to have done something right. I'm very discouraged, and graduated a year ago and have nothing to show for it. Bottom line, I know how you feel and its crappy

I just think this whole NCLEX thing is frustrating. It has majorly killed any self esteem I had left to e point that I was trying to figure out something else to go to school for. Bottom line, I could never see myself doing anything else other then nursing. When you think about it, we are at an advantage as opposed to other careers in the medical field. We only have to wait 45 days, where I know a few friends who were in PT that they can only take their test two times a year. I just find it frustrating because I graduated in May, not currently working, and have spent hours and months studying and can't pass this damn test! I know I need to stop comparing myself to friends who have all passed and have good jobs, but I'm sure those of you that are in the same position as myself knows how frustrating it can be.As far as the NCSBN, I took the 3 week session before I took my test the second time and thought it was extremely helpful. I had a death in the family and a lot of stuff going on at at time, so I don't think I used it to its full capacity. Everyone seems to like it so I will give it another try!As far as pharmacology, does anyone have any recommendations on how to study the drugs? I was horrible at pharm in school and still struggle with it.

I agree! The sooner scheduled the better! I just took my nclex for the third time and failed so I know the feeling of being lost. The time between the first and second time was way too long. I waited about 4 and a half months... Th second time I took it, I came home and got the CC screen and just paid it. I waited 4 weeks for an ATT and then couldn't get a date for almost a month. I signed up again this time the second I found out I failed, waiting for an ATT.... Point being, don't let too much time pass! You know your stuff, it's just this damn test is so unpredictable with questions, and I'm a horrible test taker. You'll be fine!

I went to Molloy College in NY. I' m just very discouraged at this point. I took a review course over the summer that did only content review. Was not like Kaplan where they teach you the technique in how to approach the question. I thought about taking another review, but thought it would be a waste of money at this point. I own a ton of review books, and wat to try and utilize what I have and planned on trying Saunders this time. As for ATI, did you enjoy it? My school set me up with ATI for free after I failed the first time and I didn't care for it because I found it was like being in school again and doing homework assignments. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I just took NCLEX for the third time last week and failed for my third time. Each time my computer shut off at 75 questions, and each time I didn't think the questions were so bad. I'm just at a complete loss now and don't know what to do to study this time around. I've used NCLEX4000, Kaplan book, NSCBN website, and my review book from a review course I took over the summer. At this point, I'm so embarrassed and frustrated that I didn't pass and all of my friends had jobs. Any words of advice would be helpful! I just don't know where to start..

3 Triages- Hello!! After all of the months I would visit this website and look at the posts, I finally decided to join! Just saw your post & know exactly how you feel. I took my NCLEX the middle of August and failed at 76 questions. Walking out of there I didnt think the test was too bad, but apprently I didnt know anything. I found the questions to be different from the ones I studied and did decent on. I took a review course called Ready to Pass which went over a ton of material and was a good refresher. Also, I bought the Kaplan book which gave you the test techniques and strategies to answer the questions and again I didnt pass. It's not two months later and I really have to get moving. A friend of mine suggested after she failed the first time AND took a Kaplan course to purchase questions through NCSBN which is who makes our exam. The website I believe is learningext.com and you can purchase them accoriding to how many weeks you want to put in studying. First time around, I practically spent my entire summer not working, and just studying like I was going to work 8-4 everyday. I covered a ton of material, and spent maybe a week or two reviewing some questions. Im going to purchase these questions, 3 weeks for $50 which I dont think is horrible. I do not think I need to spend months studying like last time. Let me know if this was helpful!! Good Luck!!!

Hello all! I'm new to nurses.com, but can definately relate to everyone. I recently graduated from a BSN program in May. With alot of family obligations going on, I did not begin studying until the end of June, and started out by taking a review course called Ready to Pass. I would recommend this course to anyone who would like to review content. It was 4 years of nursing school crammed into a week and basically gave you the guidelines for what is important to study and what is not. I spent the entire next 6 weeks studying 5-6 hours each day and took the weekends off. Apparently all of the studying did not pay off because I failed my boards when I took them mid August and have felt so crappy that I just can't focus. The entire summer studying I felt was such a waste and I didnt know where to start again. For me, I felt I knew the material, but the questions seemed to be tricky. My computer shut off at 75 questions which made me feel relieved, only to find out when I went home and did the Pearson trick that I had failed. My life I felt was over. Still today, I havent even signed up to retake it. I am sooo afraid that I may fail again and I dont know how to help myself out of this hole I'm in. Any advice would be appreciated :)
