Nursing@Simmons FNP March 2018
I mean I just registered regustered for my first semster just yesterday, so I haven't even started. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews but majority were good and I have a friend that I work with who said the program was really good, but just a little pricey. She said after she graduated, she felt really prepared to sit for boards. She took it once and passed and now she's working as a np.

Nursing@Simmons FNP March 2018
Super excited to start the FNP Program at Nursing@Simmons for the March 2018 cohort! Has anybody else applied for this cohort or thinking about applying? Does anybody who's currently attending the FNP @ Simmons have any input or advise to give the prospective students?

RN generic full Time fall 2014- Miami dade college
I'm actually not working as a nurse. I've had my license since Nov. and I'm still looking. But as far as the bsn program goes you can opt for face to face or online. From what I've seen, if you do face to face it's only like maybe 2-3 days on campus.

RN generic full Time fall 2014- Miami dade college
Hey, CONGRATS again to everyone that got accepted into the nursing program!!! As per requested, I'll try to tell you as much as I can remember about the Nursing Orientation. Sorry if it's long..... Considering I had my orientation for the FT Generic Program in 2012, I'm pretty sure a few things have changed. But in orientation they give you the nursing school handbook and make you sign the contract at the end of the handbook. The handbook basically is a guideline telling you everything you need to know about nursing school: program policies (on attendance, uniform, picking sequences, expectations of an mdc nursing student, and etc.). Just the basics. They also give you a list of all the books you'd pretty much need throughout your entire program. Reps from the bookstore came and talked about some stuff that you could find in the bookstore as well. You also got to pick to your classes (that was towards the end of orientation). If you were to try to pick your classes before orientation day, the classes wouldn't go through bc the faculty has to put in some code to allow you to do so. I know on mdc's website (and some may have even gotten emails) saying that you can start registering for classes, but they highly suggest that you wait until they give you the okay to do so at orientation. So don't be alarmed if you tried to register for classes and it doesn't actually register. They also checked to make sure you turned in all of your documents. Even if you have already done so, I suggest that you still bring a copy of everything just to be on the safe side. I know a couple of people had problems with mdc saying they were missing documents. Can't remember anything else right now. But hey if you guys have anymore ques, don't hesitate to ask me ...I'll try to help as much as I can.

RN generic full Time fall 2014- Miami dade college
1st semester: Def used fundamentals and pharm book. I really didn't have to use the assessment book bc my prof used her own lecture notes. We really used the Davis drug guide. Rarely tabers. If anything, I'd have to see the book list bc they may have changed some things

BSN program at MDC FALL 2014
I'm not really sure considering ENC 1102 is a requirement for entry into the actual ADN program. As far as the BSN program, I'm assuming that that course should've been taken already.

MDC Fall 2014
Hey! I graduated from mdc's generic ft program last yr may. Overall, I feel as though the program was just amazing. Majority of the professors were always helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understood the concept (at least it was like that for me). If any of you guys have any ques, I'd be more than willing to answer them to the best of my ability

BSN program at MDC FALL 2014
Hey, I've applied to the BSN program for the 2014 FALL term. I know nothing about those applying to the BSN program having to take the new NLN PAX test. I assumed that was only for the new students (who do not have already have a RN license) trying to get into the program bc it's not listed as a requirement. Maybe this test doesn't even apply to me bc I actually graduated from mdc's ASN program.

MDC PT Financial Aid
Honestly, I don't know but your best bet would be to either call whichever campus you're trying to get into or just go and talk to someone in the financial aid department in person.

Nursing programs
I got my AA from Miami Dade College and I just recently got into their nursing program.

MDC Spring 2012 :)
How rude of me..... I never asked which program you want to apply to. I just assumed the generic route because it's mdc's traditional program. :smackingf Juliansmom, which program are you trying to apply to?

Florida Gulf Coast University?
That's cool. Trust me, FGCU is a really good school. I used to be up there all the time but something happened with my living arrangements sooooo I declined in hopes of getting into mdc. But I didn't get in on the first attempt, but second time around is a charm right? lol. But your practice teas score is awesome, smh mine were horrible (the online ones that is). The ones from the back of the book were in the high 70s and 80s. Don't know what happened when I actually took the test though lol. But keep me posted. I'd loved to know how everything goes for you

MDC Spring 2012 :)
Yes, that is correct, but those aren't all of the pre-reqs. And I understand the confusion, trust me I was researching my info while I was still in high school before I even registered for my first class at mdc. I have years of experience and sometimes 'over the phone conversations' don't really help much when you're really trying to gather information. But try this link, it has all the pre-reqs listed plus some additional info: http://www.mdc.edu/medical/Nursing/pdf/selectioncriteria2010/7-10%20%20ADN%20Generic%20admission-selection%20criteria%20_version2.pdf
