Hi NewCaliRN, I did not ask how many they were hiring. But this is for SM, not RR. I'm sure RR will hire more than SM because the unit is bigger. I only had one interview. Let me know if you need any more info!

Fingers crossed for you! I know it seems so hopeless out there especially reading some of the stuff on here where people weren't finding jobs for months and years after graduation. I had resigned myself to the fact that I was gonna move home and chill out for a few months since the job market is so bleak. But it IS possible guys!!! Good luck everyone!! Lol don't be scared! I'm sure since you've gotten an official "You're hired" you should rest easy :) Plus the unit I interviewed for is at Santa Monica...I think everyone has been hired so far at RR?

Wow, months?? The UD said by the end of this week "hopefully" so I guess I shouldn't hold my breath lol. I am definitely not gonna wait around for a weekly update!

Did anyone get a phone call saying they're still waiting for the budget to approve new grad positions?? Is that good or bad??

Hi all, I will be a new graduate nurse next month and was wondering if the reservations hire new grad nurses? As a former military brat, I am itching to immerse myself in a new culture after being in SoCal for so long! Also, there seems to be some apprehension (best word I could come up with) of having "white" people on the rez. How do they feel about Pacific Islanders?? Lol thanks!

Did you interview with RR or SM? For SM, I was told by the nurse recruiter we should hear back right after Thanksgiving or at the latest, first week of December I'm assuming it's the same for SM ICU because the PICU is on the same unit and the interviewers were the same :)

I did the same thing! Card in the mail and then I e-mailed them a week later saying I had sent a card in the mail and I wanted to say thank you again in case they never got it. Do you know if s/he interviewed at RR or SM? I had also e-mailed the nurse recruiter after my interview and she passed along the information that my interviewer (from SM) would be contacting us after Thanksgiving. Although she didn't specify what to expect in terms of a second interview or being hired or rejected. Hope that helps! But it wouldn't hurt to email them. Good luck everyone!

I interviewed for SM's PICU and they said they would let us know by the first week of December at the latest. BUT I don't know what they will be letting us know lol I'm assuming a second interview but maybe they could only be doing one round?? I didn't ask

For everyone who has had interviews, did you send a thank you card or just an email or anything at all?? I'm at a loss because I'm not sure how reliable snail mail is in a huge hospital! But an email does not seem quite as professional. Thoughts??

Did anyone interview for SM's PICU? The interviewer made it sound like they would be only hiring one new grad! Yikes! PS. The "essay" questions before the interview are super easy :)

I thought Santa Monica might be a little less competitive since Ronald Reagan is Magnet and has received all the prestigious awards but obviously there is no method to this madness!! Did they say if they'll be doing another round of interviews? Or just hiring from this time around? Good luck to you both! I'm sure you did fine Zippy7 :)

And thanks for the info! Do you think it would be a waste of time to bring a portfolio since these interviews seem so short?
