ADN degree with DUI probation.
So I was charged with a DUI in October 2014 and convicted of a DUI (0.15) in March of 2015. I was able to finish my nursing school and graduate in January 2015. It's been over a year now and I have been thinking of submitting an application. I know California is the worst when it comes to criminal histories, but if I were to get denied what baggage does it carry? Also I may be okay with a probationary license, as of right now I just want to start working and not forget all my clinical skills and knowledge. HELP!

DUI conviction success story
I haven't applied yet but it's been over a year. I've been hearing stories of waiting until finishing probation ( planning to petition to end probation early at the 1.5 year mark). Although I feel the longer I wait the more skills and knowledge obtained from school will be forgotten. Although your success story inspires me to apply soon!

DUI conviction success story
I am in the same boat as I graduated in January 2015 and got convicted of a DUI in March 2015. I am also in California and blew a .15 . If you have time to talk please PM me sometime because I am currently so heartbroken and torn that I may not be able to obtain my RN license anytime soon!

Got a DUI in nursing school & NCLEX
Did you finish your 3 years DUI probation prior to applying? I received a DUI in my last semester of nursing school (charged oct 2014, convicted March 2015). I told my instructors and department and they supported me and allowed me to finish my last clinical and graduated in December 2014. I've reached the 1 year mark of my DUI and plan on setting a motion to terminate my DUI early at the halfway mark in September. Please help me as I am also in California. I hear it's best to get off probation before applying.

Florida - Can someone explain?
http://floridasnursing.gov/forms/convict-record-guidelines.pdf I'm confused in the section for applicants with criminal history it say: Completion of Probation/Parole/Sanctions – Probation and financial sanction records for offenses can be obtained at the clerk of the court in the arresting jurisdiction. Parole records for offenses can be obtained from the Department of Corrections or at the clerk of the court in the arresting jurisdiction. If the records are not available, you must have a letter on court letterhead sent from the clerk of the court attesting to their unavailability. but in the chart above it says DUI's with one time factor will clear regardless of time factor. Do I have to be off criminal court probation for DUI before being able to apply ? ( I just started criminal court probation in march 2015 for 3 years in California)

Currently on DUI Probation with a recent ADN Degree
Also anyone have any information about Nevada? I'm looking it up and the information seems so vague.

Currently on DUI Probation with a recent ADN Degree
In California > .15 is aggravating factors so I got the lowest DUI sentencing, >.15-.20 is the next tier up with > .20 being the highest. If I apply to say Florida and get my license how hard would it be to transfer the license back to california in a few years?

Currently on DUI Probation with a recent ADN Degree
So if I graduated from a community college in California, how would I go about applying for RN licensure in Florida?

Currently on DUI Probation with a recent ADN Degree
Long story short I recently graduated my ADN program (California) in December 2014 and finally convicted of my DUI (BAC 0.15) in March of 2015. I have to serve 112 community service and also put on 3 years probation. I have browsed through a lot of these threads and know that this is a long road ahead of me. I need some advice on what to do to to be licensed as soon as possible because I feel I will become incompetent with my stuff learned from school over the long period of time. Should I look out of California? Please, any help will do. Before anyone grills me on my poor decision, please know that I wake up every morning and have to look at myself in the mirror knowing that everything I worked for the past 6 years of school is currently going to waste and that I let my family down for my poor decision. But I believe this DUI does not show my character and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get past this. Please, my heart is broken.

My Two Cents When Applying to California with a Criminal History
Great post as I am currently in my last 4 weeks of my ADN program and just recently been pulled over for a DUI in California. My court date is in a week and I got a lawyer in hopes of a somewhat good outcome.

RN Student pulled over for DUI.
Two evenings ago I was pulled over for a DUI with a BAC of .15 via breathalyzer. I know it was a bad decision on my part getting behind the wheel and driving. I am entering my last 9 weeks of my ADN program at a CC here in California and I am scared of getting kicked out of the program and not being able to graduate. Anyone have any experience with this and what steps I should do ? My court date is ordered for the end of next month and my clinical rotations ends a couple of weeks after. I'm lost and very down at the moment having not yet told my family and friends about the event that took place. This is my first time getting pulled over and also any sort of criminal offense. Can anyone guide me into what I should do next? Should I email my in instructors ASAP or after my court date?

Score of 90 on TEAS V
I got an 88% and I just used the McGraw Teas study guide. Did a couple sample exams questions and pretty much winged it. It wasn't too bad.

Cerritos College Vs. Citrus College
BT, Thanks for the insight! I just passed my TEAS exam today at Cerritos and will be starting on August 20th ( My birthday!). I'm grateful that I made it on my first time applying! Also did you manage to work part time during the program ? I always worked part time and went to school full time ( Cell Biology and Sociology double major...just graduated last week yay!) and balanced it out quite well.
