DCCC Nursing Program 2013
If you earned in the 80s on your TEAS you should definitely be fine. In the orientation session, Nancy Wheeler said there's a range from year to year but it's very unlikely that you'll have 32 petitioners with 85 or above...

I'll be dropping it off in a couple weeks! I got in for 2012 but decided to wait since I popped out our second baby in May.

Well, folks, I'm afraid I have to bow out of this forum. I figured out that while I can work, go to school, and be a mom to a newborn and 2 year old at the same time I wouldn't do any of it well. So that combined with the opportunity to save for a year so I can quit my job in Fall 2013, I'm postponing DCCC's program until next year. It was an incredibly hard decision: one I've been wrestling with for several months now but it came down to not being able to stomach being away from my newborn three nights a week and every weekend. So I wish everyone the best of luck. I really hope you keep this thread active as the year progresses so I can see what you're up to. Here's not taking the TEAS again. :-D

It went quicker than I expected! I got home at 3:30 and had time with my son before heading out to Pennock's Bridge for Anatomy and Physiology so it ended up being a really nice day. I'm in the evening/weekend section so I didn't have to make a choice. I also signed up for A&PII for next fall during the day (which I might end up dropping depending on how I'm feeling about work/school/2 kids). I'll be at the 6pm orientation. How about you? I wouldn't worry too much about the Math for Nurses class. I took it last summer and it was literally the easiest course I've ever taken and with it being the summer session it was only 4 weeks long. If you're worried about the challenge, I'd say do as much practice as you can and whatever you do, check your work backwards and forwards. What always screws me up is the little errors from not checking your work. But once you get back into the swing of things with the formulas it's not too bad.

Nope, it's our second. :-) (Second boy, too.) I'm freaking out a bit but I've got a great support system and I'm hoping that by the time my boys are starting kindergarten I'll be done school and becoming settled as a nurse. But 4 boys? Wow!! I'm due 5 days after my AP final. lol

That's good to know about OU, chuckster! You bring up good options but I'm pretty set on Jeff... if you get hired there, I heard they have a great tuition forgiveness program. 4boysmama - I'll see you on the 7th - even though I'm evening/weekend program I switched to the 12:30pm meeting so I wouldn't miss A&P lab. Just look for the preggers lady. Jeff and Drexel both have excellent programs!

Congrats! After speaking with the program advisor at Neumann I'm quite convinced DCCC is the way to go. I'd need to take 3 science courses before I could I even begin the nursing courses there so I wouldn't graduate until 2016! So even with the extra year at Jefferson I'd be more likely to graduate in 2015. Way more bang for my buck (to say nothing of the excellent program at Jefferson as well as their hiring rates for graduates). I'll take one year of private college tuition over 4!

So, what's the word for everyone? I got into the evening/weekend program at Marple so I'm very psyched. Next step is to go the college planning session in a few weeks. Of course they have it scheduled for a Wednesday night when I have an A&P lab so I had to call and reschedule for the middle of the day. I'd rather take a few hours of sick time then to send someone else for me to make any arrangements. I'm still keeping my options open with Neumann as well - I'm meeting with Sister Jude tonight. lol

Drexel Fall 2012 Students
Congratulations! I was just accepted myself but I don't think I'll be going. It's the best program I've been accepted to but I'm having our second boy in May and I'd like to stick with DCCC's evening/weekend program so I can have days with my boys. What part of Chester County are you coming from? I'm on the border of Chester County and Delco and used to live in West Philly so I'm very familiar with the area.

Good luck! I applied for the evening/weekend program in Delaware County.

Got a heads up from a current nursing student in my Abnormal Psych class that they got their acceptance letters in December last year. I will be obsessively checking the mail every day and probably will default to bribing the mail man to get the letter ASAP

That's also a reason that I haven't taken it ... though what do you have to lose. If you get a lower score the second time around, it's not like they average out all your scores thus making it a lower overall score for you. That stinks about Neumann! I was just talking to a friend who's in the nursing program and while I may be stating the obvious, it sounds REALLY intense.

Anyone waiting on Acceptance/Rejection Letter '2012
Good luck!!!! I wish my school had some kind of interview process or something else on which to base admittance. They go solely on TEAS scores which, mine were okay, but it really leaves you sweating that single item, you know?
