Good points, thank you for the information!

Shiner - do they actually require all leather shoes like the handbook says? It seems like I had heard someone say they just wore solid white tennis shoes? I don't care either way, but it would be nice to know what to look for! Thanks again for all your help - you've been great! :)

Not harsh at all, Shiner. It's a good reminder to us all that this is a public forum and we should be careful how we discuss things. :) I don't know about anyone else in here, but I'm starting to get pretty nervous and excited. I'm sure the time between now and our orientation will go by in a snap, but I am so anxious to get started just so I can stop worrying about what it will be like!

Okay well I found the new facebook page and liked it, as well as commented on it, so whoever wants to add me as a facebook friend now, I'm the Erin M. who posted on the page! :)

Ashley (kevsgirl) - I never found out anything official, but I went ahead and bought the 7th edition on Amazon for super cheap - I know there is an 8th edition coming out sometime, but two things: 1) I figured we might be able to use to most recent edition prior to the new one, even if they ask us to get the 8th edition, and 2) even if they absolutely want us to have the new edition, or if they scrap this book altogether, I figured it couldn't hurt to go ahead and get the book and start reading and outlining it - it's recent enough information to definitely be helpful, and anything that gives us a heads up prior to starting can't hurt. Plus it was cheap, so even if I can't use it for class, I figured it was worth it anyway. In any case, check around - you might be able to pick up a cheap copy! Check Amazon or Half-Price Books! :)

TCU ABSN 2012
Well, even though I knew I was accepted a couple of weeks ago when I called to check, I FINALLY got my letter today! I had to go pick it up at TCU because the first one got lost in the mail apparently! Anyways, I made my deposits today and I am good to go! I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty excited about all of this. :)

taraewell - I looked on facebook but couldn't find your page. Did you list it as private/invitation only or am I just maybe doing something wrong?

Thanks for the info about the letters - hopefully they will come soon. :) Also, I meant financial aid. I know I can get a loan, and I've already applied for some scholarships, but I was talking about government aid that you apply for via FAFSA, etc. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I tend to ramble sometimes. :)

Has anyone else gotten their actual nursing acceptance letter in the mail yet? I saw that some people received theirs late last week and I was hoping mine would come in the mail today but it didn't. I mean, I already know I got in because I spoke to *******, but I'm still anxious to get the letter so I can take the next step and make my deposits and all that... Also, does anyone know if we are eligible for any financial aid as second degree students? I've never gotten any help via the FAFSA in all my prereqs (since I graduated with my first degree anyway) because of it, even though I should qualify financially for aid, so I was wondering if anyone else had any additional input? I assume at this point the best we can do is apply for as many scholarships and grants as possible and then take loans for the rest, but I just wondered what everyone else's thoughts were about this. Thanks.

TCU Accelerated BSN 2012
kevsgirl1 - Mine still says that too. I don't know how up to date the my.tcu pages are sometimes, because mine took forever to say "Congratulations on your admission" on my homepage after they sent me my general TCU acceptance letter in Dec. I wouldn't worry about it. The last I heard, Frances was still waiting to send out the letters for nursing admission because they're updating the system so we can pay our deposits online. Otherwise, she said the letters are ready to go out. Let us know if you hear anything!

Thank you for the information, Shiner50! It makes it a lot less mysterious and scary to just KNOW what it's going to be like at first! Also thanks for the head's up about meeting with the graduating ABT group at the beginning - I will try not to let it freak me out! :) You've been so helpful and I know we all appreciate you being willing to talk with us and help us out!

TCU ABSN 2012
taraewell - Where did you see this on myTCU about your letter being sent? Mine has not said anything different since it came up with "Congratulations on your admission! We look forward to welcoming you into the horned frog family!" on my homepage (in reference to getting into TCU in general back in December). mlozao - I am definitely stressed about the financial portion, but I'm coming to terms with the idea that I'm probably going to just be in debt for a loooonnng time after I graduate...
