  1. I believe suspicion understood from original post ...better saud curiosity
  2. A BSN has become required in many jobs , so many postings say BSN REQUIRED .That is the challenge . It's highly unlikely that the Associate Degree nurses will be eliminated . Most ADN have 15-20 years experience and that is the market experience matters. There aren't enough nurses as it is . There is a federal study NIH referring to goal for all nurses to have a BSN. That's where the hype is coming from . Some jobs give you so many years to complete RN to BSN might be something to consider if your young in your career And it may open many more opportunities. Depends where you are in the country.
  3. A face to face discussion with your manager to talk about the concerns and options and your needs and expectations moving forward. Most important is to point out how she mislead you and that you would appreciate the discussion if something changes from your verbal conversation. If she has no intention to work with you then your action to remain per diem and look else where is always an option. Remember work and life balance matters to remain a great nurse . Jobs should not be taking quality of life from you . We are all replaceable and we also can find jobs that meet our needs .
  4. I disagree that folks wouldn't be asked because white , Canadian or otherwise . If someone has a different accent folks ask questions . People are just inherently curious .
  5. It is curiosity that makes for questions . Sometimes an uneasiness lends to focusing on the provider. I am completely nuetral ,however i don't believe any coworker should be sharing any information about you . There is a polite way to change the direction of the conversation by responding simply I don't know specifics but we are really happy to have her as part of our team. I would not appreciate folks talking about me . I would appreciate knowing folks are asking . For you the NP , it does seem awkard that you are so resistant to share ,perhaps you can find a common place where you may share enough to put your team and patients at ease to erase suspicion and allow them to understand you .
  6. It is worth mentioning , anything you do to increase your knowledge or bring value to a team related to a specialty care ,demonstrates your investment in yourself and in improving the care of your patients
