Can anyone here provide insight into the program? What is it like how are your clinical going, do you feel like you're getting enough support/exposure? It's like impossible to find deets.

Leave. Why put yourself through that torment? If that means working a job that you may not like but in a SAFER environment then that's just what it is. Just from my experience PEACE OF MIND is key. How much longer until your year mark? As stated you need to document these events when then happen and upon leaving have an in depth conversation with HR and give them this. If I were you I would speak with an attorney (outside the county but within the state). I have experienced racism covertly at work but only overtly outside of work. But that sh*t that you speak of is ridiculous. The fact that it's coming from leadership (precep) just floors me. It's bad enough that nurses eat their young but dang these sound like the type of folks that will just watched if G-d forbid some one tries to attack you on the way to your car or something. And speaking of which, you make sure you keep yourself protected maam. I worked in Psyc before and have had a few folks try to find me. I'll leave you here, no one has your back except you. Sad but true. Hold your head up QUEEN.

I think aspects of your jobs that you really like and aspects of your job that you could do with out. It can be emotional not so much slow and fast periods unless you LOVE the fast and slow pace switch up...

Hello all, I am a fairly new nurse who is now working in the OR (started in rehab). I was always interested in Critical Care and still am. I am currently just working on some CE's so I can stay abreast of ICU relevant topics. The thought of going back to the floor gives me a bit of anxiety even though I know I want to be there. My question is for the fairly new nurses in the ICU. I would also like those with different experiences aside from ICU to respond. What are some DAILY highs? What are some DAILY lows? What is ONE neutral part of the day (i.e. something that is just part of your day, may bother or encourage some but you're just "meh" about it). I just want to get a point of reference. I am now in school and did not read ALL of the post but I am sure glad I stumbled along this post. I think I will learn to differentiate bn trusting in your training and being "exceptional" from experience. I have ALOT to learn. I def think you should apply. If GU is where you want to go and are willing to make that investment, you should. It's a great program and a great school. Your profile seems strong just based on what you have listed here. I think I speak for many when I say applying is half of the battle, playing the waiting game is the more difficult half.

Well, good luck anyone. Did anyone here submit GRE scores? I took my GRE's and didn't do so well....although I didn't prepare I just took it to "get my feet wet." Scores are not horrible just average.... I applied to 2 other ABSN programs and got into both one here in Philly and one in DC and got into both but after research I think Jeff would be great for me. I will be submitting my app soon and will probably be part of the second round. (Sigh)

Hello all, I was recently accepted into a really great (this is an understatement) accelerated nursing program. I also applied for a scholarship program but was not accepted into the scholarship program. This was my top choice school so I figured that I would work for a year and save to pay for school and defer until next semester (if I will pay for school it might as well be my choice school right?). However, I found out that one cannot defer until next semester and I would have to reapply. The program is expensive but doable after I save and work with finaid. So, has anyone ever had experience with reapplying after acceptance? Could you shed some light for me? In the meantime I will pick up some volunteer hours and work as a BHA (it's like a cross bn a behavioral worker and nurse assistant) to save for school. Also how should I handle it? I was thinking to contact the dean of admission, chair of the dept, and director of the program just so they know it's because of my finances. Cheers!
