got another one today. feels great!!! today i got a dehydrated 6 year old. she had some veins and i was able to use lmx with the pain ease.

yeah..we have one resident that wont even try!!!

just wanted to make a quick update. today i got a 5 week old a direct admit from the office. need all kinds of things from rsv swap, u/a, labs and of course a iv. i got the iv the first try. i am so excited still. just had to update

yesterday had a severely dehydrated kid got great blood return but blew it twice.....sigh

i feel like i have failed the child when i miss and cannot get it....i wish i had a site or something to resourse...peds can be so hard.. thank for the kind words

not doing very well lately and starting to doubt myselft with every one now. any suggestions, i was doing great but lately ive missed the last few that i have done. been in peds for 3 years and wondering if i should think about something else.....

hmm, interesting..i need to find someone that would be willing to take care of my horses and animals..... if i could do that then i would be one the road asap

anyone know a site on were to give injections. need a refresher for giving flu shots. back of arm or hip right??

i just accepted a peds, tcu ,icu position and they are training me for it. i have one year of medsurg, and orientatin to L&D. i may have chosen L&D but no positions ever came available. i just was pulled there everyonce in while and the less i went, the less comfortable i felt about working there. i guess it just depends on were you work and the opportunities that arise.

i hope i like it too...its a peds,tcu, icu position. i am very excited. the medsurg floor i was on was very overwhelming and i was handling it well but with my 12 hour shifts its seem i ALWAYS had the same team (confused, ones needed to be close to the nurses station.) i was offered this and i am excited. much different environment. i still have a few days left on medsurg d/t the fact that i had already picked them up so i am going to finish what i committed to. i already feel so relieved. i know i will be getting the PALS, ACLS and will be trained with the pre and post cardiac cath care as well....so excited

i am a new rn at my 6mth mark..i have started to pick up day shifts and its going well and helping me much with my organization and talking with dr's. my normal shift is 7p-7a. the 12's are nice but i like the pace better on days. thanks for this site

im donia RN at a local rural hospital. i work on med surg floor and also oriented to ob, Defiance ohio area

i work 12's and started them right after i passed boards...i like them in the fact that i am not at work every day...but i am exhausted at the end of my shift... how do you all get your sleep "if you are working nights"..i work 7p-7a...i sometimes use benedryl only on the days i work, or melatonin...my doc will not give me a sleeping pill...how do you all conquer it

wow i wish my orientation was 2-3 months....i took my boards on june 2, started orientation the very next day. i was done june 28th i think a total of 15 days!!!! i was a student aide through out school...but the roles are completely different... another girl that was in oo with me...is still on we started the same day... its seems to be going ok...i go at my own pace and have seemed to keep up ok. i had my thirty day orientation as a rn and there were no complaints... i cannot believe the differnet in times of orientation

i did that saunders started in middle of april...the test for me was almost identical...

i am still a bit numb...it was officially posted today on my BON site....i start orientation tomarrow....i cannot believe it i just accepted 12 hour position on nights, i love the schedule

i guess...shock..it says pass

was it quick results from peason...did it say fail in the grade part... i am so sorry...i am leary about my quick results....please dont give up
