  1. They use the speculum light to work on car engines, it's so small and bright they can squeeze it into tight spots! (Ours is stolen a lot too)
  2. In our ED we have a set of standard orders, arranged by triage colors. If a patient is going to be waiting more than 10 minutes to see a doc, we pick up the color coded sheet, place it on the chart and start the orders, CP, AP, SOB, etc. It took several years of committee meetings with the docs/nurses/administration to get this set up - they tell us that it's a rare system.

I work in ER and we IVP phenergan a LOT. There are some patients that it burns and it can ruin a good IV. I always dilute it in NS, but some nurses don't.
  4. We get TONS of drug-seeking fakers in the ED. They commonly fake migraines and abdominal pain. "I'm allergic to ibuprofen, toradol, tylenol, codeine and morphine." They are after dilaudid. The newest trend is to fake chest pain, because in triage system chest pain goes to the front of the line...
  5. Yikes! Where do you live? I'm an Associate's degree RN one year experience, ACLS, TNCC, PALS and I make 25$/hour here in seattle
  6. I tried Dansko and they were too heavy, not a good fit. Try Klogs, they are awesome, my feet never hurt. They cost about 45$ and you can replace the inner sole when it wears out.
