  1. Leightanne, If you get a job at a hospital and work at night you could make in Fl what you do in RI. A friend of mine is a night CNA at the same hospital and she is making close to what you are in RI.
  2. I work as a CNA on the space coast, PD and I make about 12.00 an hr. I love what I do and where I work. I am also in nursing school and the experience is a plus for me.
  3. Hi all, I am in the second class of the nursing program at ITT Tech in Lake Mary, FL. I choose ITT because I am an older student and did not have the 3 years to wait to get into a CC nursing program. I am not going to lie and say there have not been challenges as it being a new program, but the school has taken then students concerns and made the necessary changes. All for the best. Our instructors are amazing, and I think it being a private college they have the money to pay to get excellent instructors. The other benefits is that I now it is expensive, but all your books are included, if you have had to purchase your own college books, they are not cheap. I did the math for the first semester only and the book alone would have cost 3500 out of my pocket, but since they are included in you cost, it is a great thing. The college is great in assisting you in getting loans and grants too. Our program is a hybrid with most students only having to go two days a week, so you can still work, unlike community colleges where they are 4 to 5 days a week. If you have general education classes to do, they are done along with the programs, this can make for a tough semester, but if I can do it at 40 something anyone can. They other thing I like about the programs there is no learning skills as you do clinicals, you have to know them all before you hit the hospital floors. We have students at my hospital ( I am currently a CNA) and they do don't seem to know as many skills as I do already. So far I am loving my programs, especially after the last semester with the instructor change, Love them all now. Good luck, I hope you like it as much as I do. :redpinkhe:yeah:
