  1. Dear Maryslamb77, I am sorry for what you are going through. As a psy nurse who's studying to become a psy NP, I understand the struggles and stigma of mental health. Your situation is complicated but it is not the end. You need to choose the right path and make the right decisions. As other mentioned, get a lawyer to correct your mistake for lying to the BON. If your mental health is not addressed, this situation will get worse. Find a mental health provider that you feel comfortable with. Do not repeat your outburst behaviors (when you make suicidal statements like you mentioned, they can actually put you inpatient involuntarily to protect you). You also need psychotherapy to manage your PTSD and anxiety because medications (non benzo, non narcotic) will take time to work. You need to arrange your support system to help with your kids in case you have to go inpatient (voluntary or involuntary). I hope the best to you.
  2. 1) delegate some appropriate tasks to your techs (potty, snacks for patients,...) 2) don't be afraid to ask help from your coworker nurses, especially charge nurse 3) always offer your help when you have a small free time so tip 1 and 2 can work 3) think ahead of time (pain meds) 4) always take a lunch break 5) look at how other experienced nurses on your floor function These are the very basic tips I hope you can utilize. You can do it!
  3. Were you the guy wearing the blue Methodist tshirt this afternoon? Good luck!! To people who are not lucky this time: Please never give up!! Keep applying and you will get it!
  4. Were you the guy wearing the blue methodist tshirt this afternoon? Good luck!! :)
  5. I am in second semester of nursing school right now and my nursing friends are the greatest friends I've ever had! The best thing about them is that we support each other's emotion and feeling during school. Your nursing friends are the only ones who can understand what you are going through in school. Dont be afraid to talk and make friends. In nursing, you need to open up and be more social.
  6. My nursing school says it is not good for you because of infections
  7. Did you mean the list of textbooks? You can go to majors book store website and look up for the textbooks package of El Centro :).
  8. I actually will be start the program this fall.
  9. I'm sorry I didnt keep any questions
  10. Do you think you will be more competitive in spring? If so, if I were you I would wait..
  11. Are you talking about the AP program? Hope some more of us on here will get called!!
  12. Lol I wish that number was true though! By the way, I kinda dont believe there is a nursing shortage in our area. You can see a lot of new grads don't have jobs right now, I dont know why the media keeps saying there is a nursing shortage!!!! I hope when we graduate in the next 2-3 years, the economy will be much better...
  13. That number is the number of El Centro wait list according to the article. I remember the advising days for those on wait list back in May, there were a lot of people and it should be more than 13 :)!
  14. I feel your pain! I'm losing patience but I'm accepting this outcome, slowly ..
  15. I'm in the same situation too. I were you I would go ahead and start the adn program and reapply uta program. You may lose some money for the adn program if you got into uta in the spring but at least you won't live in anxiety and waiting anymore!
  16. I took 3 times (82-87-100). The hesi covers AP 2 so it's good to take it before taking the test. I think you have plenty of time (deadline is Sep roght?). Make sure to register the test at ECC early becuase the seats fill up super fast.
  17. I took stat at Mountain View college and HPRS at ECC.
  18. Your stat is really high. Dont worry!
  19. Hm.. now their ranking process becomes more mysterious to me.
  20. @rubyredd83 what is your gpa again? I think you calculated it wrong because people with lower gpa got called.
  21. From where rubyrrd!!!? :)
  22. My best advice is to take the test as many as possible and write down the questions because some of them will repeat! That's how I made 100 on AP section lol.
  23. Good luck Morgan! I think 25 will be the minimum point you should strike for. Make sure to have EVERYTHING in your app packet completed before turning it in.
  24. I also want to know where my place in the wait list! To be honest with you guys, because I'm an international student so I have to pay a lot more for classes. The only class I'm missing now is intro to nursing and it costs $2,000 at UTA!! I feel like I'm wasting that money for that freshmen class... If I know where I am, I can make a decision more easily...
  25. Does anyone have a feeling that they have done making calls...?
