Applied Technology Roll Call 2011!
Hi Takeyla22 So it has been 2 years since I have graduated this program so I dont know if any changes has been made but here is some info. The program is 12 months & broken up into 3 trimesters that are 4 months each. The first trimester will be mostly general education classes....... A&P, PVC, Growth & Dev, Fund of Nursing, Pharmacology, IV Therapy, uhhhh i cant remember what else but that might be all of them. They will not be all at the same time at first but up to five will be at the same time at some point. The first trimester of classes is M-F from aprox 8am-3pm. Each day is a diff class. The other two trimesters will be when clinicals start and the nursing classes. If I remember righr clinicals where M & Tues from aprrox 7am- 3pm and class Wed & thurs from approx 8-3. Clinicals coordinate with the nursing class.....so if you are in Mental Health Nursing class then your clinical will be at a mental health facility. This program is challenging only because it is very direct & focused but it is doable if you stay disciplined. This program will also have you more than prepared for boards. They told us over & over that we would be ok when we took boards but I was still scared. Everyone in my class passed boards on the first try & so did all the graduates before us.

Failed PN nclex 3rd time with 205 questions help please....
I think it will help if you get a PN NCLEX comprehensive review book. If you use the cd that comes with the book, you can put it in your computer & practice answering NCLEX style questions. Hope it helps & I wish you well.

Soon to be Graduate LPN/ St. Louis
In 9 months I will be graduating the LPN program and the hospitals in my area are not hiring LPNs much anymore. Just wondering if anyone knows of any LPN positions in any St. Louis area hospitals? I have also heard of LPNs working as techs but I dont know much about that. Any info would be greatly appreciated

PAY FOR NEW GRADUATE RN's FOR ST. LOUIS AREA
wow, I am CNA right now & in an LPN program. The nursing home I work at starts LPNs at 20.50 & i am returning for my BSN soon after this program & have been wondering how much the starting pay would be at some of the local hospitals. I know there are not many hospitals that hire LPNs anymore but hoping that there are still a few, because I would love to get the experience working in the hospitals. At this point I want to work L&D or NICU as my first choice or just work on a pediatric floor. Does anybody know of any hospitals that still hire LPNs and what the starting pay would be. Although I could make more at the nursing home, I will take the pay cut to get the hospital experience. Also I have heard of LPNs occupying tech positions but not sure about that. any info would be greatly appreciated

Applied Technology Roll Call 2011!
I have been trying not to panic. I think thats what keeps my head above the water. Human G&D is alot. I got a 90 on the first test though & that was over three chapters but the next test is over 5 chapters. Keeping a schedule is a very good idea although i dont have 1. But i make sure Im in my books at least 4 hours a night. I take a nap some time after school (thanks to having time to even do that) because i need a break from reading & then I can retain more. I know five classes seems insane but Im gonna try to get ahead in my readings so I dont get overwhelmed. When is the first test?? I know you guys will do great. Just stick together, help each other out & everything will be ok :)

Applied Technology Roll Call 2011!
Ok I sent the email, but sorry Sheryl, I forgot to answer your questions. My name is Jessica & I still work right now, but only on the weekends. Im not sure if working a few hours a night will be ok for you but I would not recommend it at all. There are exams every week almost everyday of the week. This week exams, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri. Next week Mon, Tues, Thurs. There will be plenty of evenings you will probably need to do nothing but study. But their are people who have worked during the week & still do ok. Im a CNA right now & I do day, evening doubles on Sat, & Sun. So that is just a little advice. I wish you both good luck Sheryl and Ashley. :ancong!:

Applied Technology Roll Call 2011!
Hi Ladies, so its almost time for you guys to be starting the program. I know u guys are very excited. We are almost done with one of the classes already. We have one more exam for that class & tuesday is the last day. We have had so many exams, about 3 a week so study, study, study. We have all 28 classmates still so far so hopefully it stays that way, but when this class ends tuesday, if anyone didn't get at least a 75% overall, they will have to be dropped from the program. I also have you guys schedule, if you want to know what classes you guys will be in let me know.
