I just got offered a position in the PICU and accepted. I am so excited! I was wondering if anyone knew where to live in the LA area? I am from Northern CA and need to find a place asap. They told me my start date is August 12th really quick. So I need to find a place to live or crash for a little while. Any help or thoughts would be great! Thank you!

Do we know when the last day of first round interviews are? I know there were interviews today and yesterday.

It stands for Packard Intermediate Care Nursery...most hospitals refer to it as a NICU II.

I just heard the panels had 4 new grads from previous postings for past cohorts. Did everyone find out what unit was interested? I forgot to ask anything when they called I was so excited! I just assumed it was at least one of the two we put as a preference.

Any idea how many are being interviewed for the panel interviews? I know in a previews cohort it was 72. Also anyone know if it will be 4 new grads in at a time like before?

Does anyone know if LPCH is like some of the other new grad programs and will only forward you if you have precepted in that specialty? The whole pick two preferences have been tough for me... I precepted in NICU so the nursery is a yes but I also would like PICU but don't know if I should be safe with medsurg?!

Mine does too but when she talked to the manager she said no new grads at this point only CN II if they get desperate maybe new grads. I just wanted to give a fair warning to everyone else.

I'm thinking that they may be giving a list of units hiring in general ... just a guess. When I called the lady in nurse recruitment said she couldn't give the new grad units but I know other people got lists. I had hope for PICU but the manager said no new grads right now so I can't tell you why nurse recruitment would say they are. All I know is that at least for PICU I trust what that manager is saying. I can't speak for any other units. Hopefully the rest are hiring. Good Luck! I know I will need it.

Just a heads up according to the hiring manager in PICU they are not taking new grads...they are hiring experience nurses only. Just an FYI.

Thanks! My friend had said they were actively hiring cnII and above had already gone through some interviews. Here's to hoping new grad interviews will be coming too!

For those of you you spoke to HR and got lists of which departments are hiring could you post them one more time? I called today and the lady in nurse recruitment said they did not know who would be hiring....I'm glad everyone is on the same page there. I have a friend on PICU and she said she would be extremely surprised if they took a new grad but she will be double checking with her manager. Thanks for the help everyone, and good luck!!

Hey All! I was on the alternate list but was informed that I got in today! So excited! Was a facebook group ever started? Anyone thinking of living in Pomponio Village?

Does anyone know how the alternate list works in more detail? I know we are not ranked and will be reevaluated. I am really wondering if they will tell us a few spots up and then email if we got it or just that we are being offered a spot?
