Class of 2012!!! The hardest part was keeping focused in semester two and throughout. Semester one was the easiest--smooth sailing. I got comfortable with the high grades made and didn't study as much thereafter. Take notes yourself and be present when each class begins. We were reminded to use MyNursingLab and the study guides. The school gets heavy on care planning. You will need the Fundamentals of Nsg Care, Medical Surgical, Journey Across the Lifespan, Maternal Child textbook and study guide, Memmlers textbook and study guide, Clinical Pharmacology, Calculate with Confidence, Drug Guide, among others. The school just divided into two sections. Section 1 is on their way to clinical while section 2 stays at school. This schedule rotates every other week. Later this month are midterms.

The website veeb.org lists tuition for Nassau Co. residents as $12,500; non-residents as $13,000. There are some other things we have to pay for that the website does not mention. According to the VEEB catalog, total tuition and fee charges for the PN Program are $13,260.00. Financial aid is according to FAFSA; it varies. Loans are given which can make up more than half of tuition.

With all things first consider its pros and cons. The pros: you get experience with whatever you're volunteering in. The recognition-award ceremonies and letters of recommendation. Also, you can give as little or as much of your time. If you find volunteering is not for you and have to devote more time to study then you can easily give it up. The cons: it is unpaid and takes up time.

When I'm on the unit I prefer to wear from the Nike Shox line. Though they can be costly it's worth it in the long run. There's plenty of cushioning and bounce back support.
