Tulsa Community College CNA Program
Brittney, THANK YOU! This indeed helps me out on the outlook of everything! I basically have just all of my science classes left and you can bank on that I will be striving for that A! Again, I really hope you do well in the program. Good luck!

Tulsa Community College CNA Program
Congratulations! I bet you are super stoked! What GPA did you have to get in and your Nelson Denny scores?

I am in pre-reqs and we have orientation..
If you aren't in the nursing program it's probably standard of the college to take the college orientation. The tell you how to basically be successful in college--studying methods, professor approach etc...

CNA or LPN?? Help please..
The only thing you need for for the PCT program is a 2.0 GPA. At TCC the Ana and Phys can be blended, but if you decided to transfer to OU, Langston, Rogers, TU, ORU they require it to be seperate. I'm taking them seperate because I plan to apply to as many nursing schools as I can. I won't be done with my gen eds until next spring and that's taking 9 hours during the summer semesters--ICK!

CNA or LPN?? Help please..
I just looked on Tulsa Tech's website and I didn't see anywhere where they are still requesting the 5 pre-reqs for entry. Maybe they did away with this, I would call and verify with them that these have been removed from the criteria, but the CNa was still there and from the looks of it, they now allow you to take it there 6-8 weeks prior to starting the class.

CNA or LPN?? Help please..
I am also attending TCC for my RN. I'm currently enrolled in TCC's CNA class. This one is not the traditional CNA course. This is the blended course, which allows you to do your bookwork from home and you have labs 1 day a week for 5 hours for the first 6 weeks and then the last 3 weeks you have clinicals 2 days a week all day. The traditional is harder to get into because they fill up so fast because they are based on a first come first serve basis, so you might go the direction of the blended course like I am. As far as getting your LPN, Tulsa Tech requires you to have your CNA license and the 5 basic pre-reqs completed before you can even apply for the program and the same goes for TCC you have to have the CNA before you can apply. Another option you may want to look into is the PCT program at TCC. They are in the middle of a CNA and an LPN which could get you a great gig down in the ER. Again, this is a class that fills up pretty quickly and I'm not sure if they if they base this program on GPA like they do the RN program. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. I've done my research on most all RN schools and can pretty much lay it all out for you on what you need. Best of luck!

Not sure about the CNA, but some nursing colleges here in Tulsa after the 1st year can take the PN boards and work as an LPN so you might check into that. Best of luck!

Pre-Reqs Anyone?
I'll be 30 this year......

Pre-Reqs Anyone?
I have my heart set on ER, which is where I am working now as a phlebotomist. I was accepted to LPN school a year or so ago and had to turn it down because I couldn't afford to go. No matter what I am going to do my RN. I've even decided if RSU takes me I will stay in a dorm to help pay for my schooling. (I will certainly feel silly, but hey I gotta do what I gotta do) :)

Pre-Reqs Anyone?
TCC requires it, RSU doesn't. But TCC doesn't require the dosage calc and RSU does lol It will go by quickly, don't overload and stress yourself out and you'll find the classes dwindling down.

Pre-Reqs Anyone?
I have 8 classes left. CNA class, A&P, Dosage Calc, humanites I&II, Chemistry, and Micro. I only carry 2 classes a semester while working full time, but this year I'm taking on more to get it done. Lets hope it doesn't burn me in the end :/

Pre-Reqs Anyone?
Finishing up my Pre-reqs at Tulsa Community College, looking to apply to RSU and TCC next fall. Good Luck!

Rogers State University
I am almost done with my pre-reqs at TCC and am seriously considering RSU as my primary option. I was wonder if any of you have been accepted to RSU since your last postings and what does the dosage calc class all about? The website somewhat implies it's just a test and then it implies it's a class.

Tulsa Community College CNA Program
Thanks for the information! This is a 9 week class, the first 6 weeks being a 1 day a week lab and the last 3 weeks of 2 days aweek clinicals. I'm basically trying to get all my stuff in order to be able to apply for the RN class next fall and needed to carry some extra classes to make it happen. :yelclap:
