1. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is who I emailed. I was responding, but I had no idea where it went, so I had to step away. When you log into the site where you submitted your application, is the status still pending? I know they were still going through applications and opening more availability as some people are doing the BSN-DNP, so more MSN PMHNP spots should be open now.
2. I emailed yesterday (4/11) because I decided to do the BSN-DNP program and haven't heard back regarding the next steps. Yesterday evening, I got an email with my plan of study and the next steps.
3. Don't count yourself out yet. I think they may be behind with their notifications, Hopefully, you hear something soon. I know the wait is nerve-wracking. I felt like I was checking every five minutes for an update. I heard the same thing about the virtual interview invitation. Not sure when my status changed between Monday and today but it finally switched to Decided and the letter attached has the date 2/29/24. When I last checked Monday was still saying Department Review. I may have missed it but just checking to see if you got the confirmation email that your virtual interview was complete.
4. I completed my interview 2/10/24 around 1000 am, got the email I was recommended for acceptance 2/19/24 @ 6:36pm 2/23/24 @ 4:07pm email that the school received my background and drug screen results and next steps to submit my letter of intent and that a formal acceptance letter would arrive via email soon. Make sure you check your spam box one of my emails I found there.
5. Thank you ? I have been seeing a lot of people who have said they use preceptor tree or clinical match in some of the facebook groups I am in. I have not done any research on these yet so not sure if free or a paid service.
6. It's been so much going on forgot the background and drug screen step. For those interested I completed the drug screen on a Monday by Wednesday afternoon the school received. The background check I ordered like a 3 am the Sunday before the drug screen when I saw the request and it came back Tuesday partially done and fully done Wednesday. The delay was waiting on the Illinois background check so if multiple states may add some time. I'm making my final decision between the University of Alabama and another school I have been accepted to since I am now considering the BSN-DNP route since the plan was to eventually go back anyway. From talking with the other school due to recommendations from a lot of state boards clinical hours are being increased pretty much everywhere across the board. You got this.
7. Congratulations on taking the first step ? I submitted my resume and everything requested together and about 2 weeks later received the link to complete the virtual interview. That was a little nerve-wracking as you don't know what the prerecorded questions are going to be. They were pretty standardized, they read the question and gave you I think a minute to formulate your answer within a 2-minute time frame. I got my acceptance email 9 days later.
8. You are most welcome I know we have all been anxiously waiting. I had an alert set on my phone so I wouldn't miss the notification. Congratulations!!
9. Check your email, everyone. Just got my offer of admission to the PMHNP program ? hopefully, they were sending for the FNP program as well.
10. I hope they keep true to what the email said 2-3 business day delay that is tomorrow. I wish they would speak on these "exciting developments".
11. I have been checking my email all day and missed my email until I just saw these notifications on this site and decided to recheck, went to my spam folder for some reason. I have been recommended for admission as well. I did my interview the Saturday before last, so one week and two days. Official acceptance pending background and drug screen- ordered will complete tomorrow.
12. Me either hopefully they already know and in 2-3 business days so next Wednesday, I'm hoping we find out either way. I wonder what these exciting developments are.
13. Did anyone else receive the notification of the delayed acceptance letters for the Summer 2024 MSN Cohort?
14. I applied for Fall 2024 PMHNP and just completed my virtual interview this past Saturday. I was nervous about the virtual interview because you have no idea what they are going to ask. I had four questions and one written response. You have 1:00 after they ask the question to prepare a response and a 2-minute response time limit. I took a short break between the questions. For the written response question I believe you have 10 minutes. Now I'm playing the waiting game.
15. Check with the school you are wanting to attend and see if they accept CLEP credits for Statistics, I believe Chemistry is also available to CLEP test out of but if your school requires a chem lab component this may not be an option. If they accept CLEP credit then you study for the test, pay, and test.
16. Wow did realize they extended the deadline. I wish the website would show where they are in the process of review. Hopefully, we hear something soon. I am waiting on two other schools as well.
17. I applied to Georgia State's PMHNP program for Fall 2024, and got my application in right before the deadline so still waiting on a decision. A coworker of mine went there and she liked the program her issue was getting all her hours in she was finishing during COVID so that caused some issues at that time. I also think the school would help with finding a preceptor if needed but in the end, I think she had to find al her preceptors by herself.
18. I didn't apply for the FNP program but waiting to hear back for the PMHNP Summer 2024 cohort. Good luck!!
19. Wow small world were you in the middle row of tables near the front. I was at the table all the way in the front to the right by the wall and windows.
20. I'm applying for the part time program 2018,finishing up my prerequisites and I take patho Wednesday evenings on campus.
21. Oh wow I took mine the same day my lowest score was chemistry í ½í¸’. Are you finishing with your prerequisites or do you still have some left?
22. No grammar but chemistry, a&up math, read comprehension, vocabulary along with a learning profile and personality profile are on there. I took two weeks ago. Good luck if you haven't tested yet.
23. First and foremost thank you for the response. I have looked over the syllabus and emailed the instructor we are allowed to use risk for nursing diagnosis. The one I was working on last night was Risk for Peripheral Neurovascular Dysfunction. The other diagnosis I was thinking is related to Acute pain and I am currently trying to get further clarification on the scenario patient's mental status which is vague. It would help if I knew if the confusion led to the fall that caused the hip fracture or did the client become confused d/t unfamiliar surroundings. Thank you for your feedback as I pressed send and was looking at my original post I was looking at the range or motion exercise as an intervention and was thinking that probably isn't possible during this hospital stay so I scratched that intervention. I guess with the assisting with ADL's I was thinking along the lines of getting the client used to doing as much for themselves as possible which you are right does not directly affect Mobility. I also realize I didn't add the time I would like to see my goals achieved. I am currently awaiting my Mosby's Guide to Nursing Diagnosis according to Amazon should arrive sometime today. I also accidently ordered Ackley's Nursing Diagnosis handbook on my kindle which I heard is the extended version of the book I'm currently waiting on. Can you recommend a careplan book: This is the one I have my eye on but it older and has a new edition coming out but it isn't out yet and I need one ASAP. [h=1]Nursing Care Plans: Diagnoses, Interventions, and Outcomes, 8e 8th Edition[/h] by Meg Gulanick PhD APRN FAAN (Author), Judith L. Myers RN MSN (Author) Again Thank you for your feedback it is appreciated. Crystal
24. Oh boy I am excited about being back in school and terrified as well. I have been a LPN since 2009 and only briefly were we introduced to Careplans. Well here we go and today on the first day I get present with a scenario if I even want to call it that. Here is the info I was presented with. I have an Elderly patient 86 y/o fell at home. Patient is confused to place and time scheduled for surgery tomorrow. With the info I have one nursing diagnosis I want to use is: Impaired Mobility related to muscular skeletal impairment AEB fractured hip. Desired outcomes *Regain/maintain mobility at the highest possible level. *Patient demonstrates the use of adaptive devices to increase mobility Interventions: 1. Provide and assist patient with mobility means of wheelchair, walker as soon as possible and instruct safe use of mobility aids. 2. Assist with self care activities. 3. Execute passive or active assistive ROM to all extremities. Rationales: 1. Early mobility reduces complication of bed rest (phlebitis) and promotes healing. Learning the correct way to use aids is important to maintain optimal mobility and patient safety. 2. Improves muscle strength and circulation, enhances patient control in situation, and promotes self-directed wellness. 3. Exercise enhances increased venous return, prevents stiffness, and maintains muscle strength and stamina. Can someone tell me how this looks. Tanks in advance Crystal
