Collin County Community College
This is where i am getting frustrated..... i am currently going to CCCCD and going for taking my classes and on top of the pre-reqs.. and i just hear tons of different stories.... This is what i hear..... 1) Being on the list is just numbers, it is a gaurantee to get it in,..... just the process having to wait... and depending on what number you fall on to that they are starting to grab the number of students to start the program.... 2) due to the fact that the only problem with getting in the nursing program and why it is competitive is due to the staff to teach the program.... (this part i know of...) I am retaking my some of the few classes i am just wanting to retake due to the fact that at CCCCD they replace the lowest grade with the highest.... AS they tell me that is what they do..... and hopefully that will be allowing me to prove that i can make a better grade in those areas... And obviously making high grades in the classes is what everybody needs to aim for Especially pre-reqs. i mean i dont see myself having a problem with it its just hearing all the scattered information everywhere that is confusing me.... Do they only ask for those kind of records when being accepted into the nursing program? then after being accepted they tell you all the things they need in a certain amount of time, and if not that's when they deny?.. Bolded- thats exactly what i know of and hear about.... now i think i had posted this question somewhere else in a thread but ill ask it again.... When trying to get in the nursing program at CCCCD or JUST to get on the list are we able to do this while we are taking all of our classes or is this something we would have to wait for until all the pre-reqs are finished then apply for the program and get on the list.... another thing that i hear about is that there are a few test or just test or something we take before applying.. Is that when the PSB is taken? before or after being accepted or awaiting on the list? The only reason i may be frustrated or confused is i am new to this and i am just trying to get things going.... Thanks for the help hear from you guys soon...

Know-it-all nursing students?
i know what you mean.. but youll have people out there make you feel a bit different about what you do and possibly guide you in the wrong direction...

Anxiety about school and life in general
see going over this even makes me keep going with what i want to do.. knowing that not only me but many others have the opportunity..

Anxiety about school and life in general
Hey to be VERYYY HONEST with you i am the EXACTTT same way... everybody was the same exact way with me as well.. but again it just honestly takes time to get use to the environment etc.. the only reason why i can say that is.. just for the fact that its like that for any job... im currently a personal trainer while i am in school trying to get all my classes (pre-reqs) and so forth and its consistently keeping me hands on having to be veryyy social active, i mean i do all this in my own way... at first when i had gotten the job to do it i was telling myself there is no way i can do all of it... just keep going at what your doing.. All i can afford is C.C as well with the age that i am at im paying for everything myself, yea it bothers me but again i look at it is how bad do i really want it.. and i am a bit confused on some certain things about the program but im not going to let that stop me because there is tons of information to get through and make things much more smoother and easier not only to understand but eventually being able to do..

Waiting list - is it a guarantee to be put in the program?
See i was going through thinking that this was all like a huge type of pre-med deal of whether being accepted or not due to grades etc.. but i am getting the gist of it.. i mean i am a student that makes A's etc as long as i am working hard and trying as i am suppose to. I had went through a situation with school a while back and i ruined the whole opportunity of trying to do well in a way, and later on just thinking really hard i didnt want to be a drop out etc... now that i switched C.C. they are giving me the opportunity to take my classes over again because i had told them in person that i can prove that i can do well here and there, just for the fact that i wasnt being me at the time.. and with my school they replace the lowest grade with the highest and it will show on the transcript as they say, therefore that had given me more of a confidence booster saying to myself that "i can do this"... and as long as i am hoping that i am able to do what i can in order to prove that it will get me far.. and make me feel much more comfortable with what i am doing now... and that was another thing i was a bit afraid of... whether i would be able to still do the nursing program etc.... although i am assuming that it is much more easier to understand now from where i am getting information everywhere.. i am just a kind of person if i really decide to do the things in life that i really want to do now, im not going to make the same mistakes that i have made and i wont give up..

Waiting list - is it a guarantee to be put in the program?
Thanks Comm. No problem at all.. yea i could see that being the downfall but see the thing is im most likely going to apply to the program at different C.C not just the one i am at.. now i would assume that being on the waiting list there would people that decide to get off the list than obviously that would allow you to move up from the list...

Community College? You must be stupid.
See something i am definitely looking forward to very much.....

Waiting list - is it a guarantee to be put in the program?
I do have a question that i have been really wanting to know about when it comes to nursing program...... after taking all my classes needed in order to get in the program i understand that portion of it when it comes the to the program.... and so forth.. my question is.. well in my C.C we are put on a waiting list.. when we choose to apply for it due to the fact the only reason it is competitive i assume is our school or other schools just dont have enough staff to get this all going for everyone so that would be the reason for the list... i am assuming.. What i am wanting to know exactly is, is it a guarantee to be put in the program? for example lets say there are a list of 100 people and 1-30 people are picked at a time in order to go through the program... and lets say i am waiting, since i am "#31" so to speak... when it comes to that time where they are going back to the run down with the list starting from 31 and so forth and it is my turn finally is it then at that time i have the opportunity to be in the program now? When wanting to be in the nursing program etc, is it just Numbers waiting on the list? The only reason why i am asking is first off my family is all in the medical field and i dont want to be the only person that does something else...... BUT do not get me wrong Nursing is something i honestly feel that will be very good for me and something i am realllllly looking forward too... I just really want a better understanding.. The only thing i should probably say is, or what i am worried about, AND i should probably not be worrying about this at all, is just that i am kind of new and not saying that i DONT, but i dont want to take all the classes and extra classes and have no idea whether i will be in or not..... And i am assuming it is a bit easier than this? the way my thoughts are toward this... but when meaning guarantee in the nursing program is if as long as i stay on the list and continuesly stay on the list i should be fine and just wait till my time comes? Hope to hear from you guys soon Thank you
