How hard is the HESI entrance exam ( Need some words of encouragement)
it's not that hard! The best thing to do is try not to be nervous and take your time. The math is super easy. Just know ratios and proportions. The science is pretty random. I would study the parts of the cell and their functions! Use the HESI book for vocab. That was the hardest part for me!

Just took the HESI!!
I took the hesi A2 today and passed!!:) we had to have an 80 on math, science, and english to apply! I just thought i would talk a little about it because i searched these sites forever looking at what people had to say about this test!! Chem: This part was really hard. It was NOTHING like the study guide. had stuff about water, hydrolysis, hydrogen bonds, a lot of reactions, pH, moles. some of the questions were pretty tricky. i would have been better off not to study anything for it. luckily, i just got done with organic chemistry. I feel like i guessed on a good amount though. The study guide really did not help. I got an 84 somehow! Biology: I thought this part was easy. a lot about cell function and mitosis and meiosis. It also had a few conversions which i was pretty surprised about! It also had two questions about AIDS and a question about herpes? Reading: Reading is reading. I don't enjoy it, but it wasn't bad. i got an 82. vocab: i got a 78. I thought this part was the hardest! i probably had about 20 words from the hesi study guide and the rest i made guesses on. math: SO easy!! know conversions!!! i probably had 10-15 on those. I had a ton of ratios and proprtions. One military time. 0 roman numerals. a bunch of easy word problems. There was also a few fractions (multiplying, adding, dividing, and subtracting). the rest was simple adding and stuff. They gave us scratch paper and we could use the calculator on the computer! i got a 92. The hesi study guide was right on for math! grammer: pretty easy. I took this section first because i was nervous and knew i would do OKAY on it. i got an 84. simple stuff really. SO i now can appy for the nursing program and be in for spring! i have a 4.0 and now passed the HESI! so excited! GOODLUCK to anyone taking this test!! :)

A&P 1 passing??
if your nusing school is not that tough to get into i would say stick with the C. if not, stay in the class and study hard! you've already taken it once, it should be easier this time! good luck.

What can I do to study for A&P 1&2?
Hello i have had a&p I and II. i got an A in each class. you could get an early start on learning muscles and bones. (muscles were for sure the hardest part for me!) learn directional terms because they help SO much with everything. (superior, inferior, anterior, posterior) and there are tons more. i took medical terminology...it helped a lot before i took anatomy. Anotomy II is A LOT harder than I so make sure to study longer and harder! very interesting and fun class! good luck :) i really don't think it is as hard as people make it out to be... as long as you study you will be FINE!

Not confident in myself!
I'm starting nursing school in the spring and i am so nervous! I have a Gpa of 3.9, however i do not feel smart. i went through anatomy I and II with an A and i thought it was easy. i am good with memorizing stuff and forgetting it fast...however, i feel as if i learned A LOT in anatomy and i remember a lot!!! im nervous i will not be a good nurse and won't get enough practice. someone tell me i'll be OKAY.

How are some nurses nurses?!
Thank you all for the replies, it just worries me if that is done wrong if they could be making other serious mistakes :) this one, however was not really anything serious. We did tell her it was on wrong, but she disagreed.

How are some nurses nurses?!
I had a neck injury from pole vaulting a few months back and when i went into the E.R. the nurse put my neck brace on wrong. I kept messing with it because my neck hurt so bad and she yelled at me and told me not to mess with it ( my mom is a nurse, and she knew it was on wrong, as well as i) when i went to get my x rays the nurse there was like, "who put this on you?!" and she fixed it and then it actually did what it was disigned to do! if a nurse can't even put a neck brace on...then what else is she doing wrong...? Hospitals scare me! hopefully one day i am a great nurse

only a few months to decide...
I just graduated in may from high school and i am going into nursing, however i am undecided if i want to get an associates or bachelors in nursing. i know that the salary is pretty much the same. My senior year of high school i attended college full time (post secondary) i took a lot of core classes for the nursing program (Anatomy I & II, statistics, multiple soc and psych classes, all my english). My gps is a 3.8. i thought i had it all planned out. i was going to go to a 4 year program (it would only take me three years to get a bsn). they changed the program up and now i have to take a Hesi a2 test which i am freaking out about it because if i do not do well then i may not get into the program, hence i would waste money and time! and then another one to get out of the program! i am not well with those kinds of tests, but im sure i would pass if i studied. im a little nervous about all these important tests! here are my reasons for wanting to do both...and cons assosicates pros: close to home i could stay at home (save money) a lot cheaper!!! my boyfriend of three years will be here (he is in his final year of a bachelors for engineering) my little brother is my world and i would miss him! cons: all my friends are going away i can't stand to live in this boring town!! bachelors: pros: take only three years if i get accepted meet new people. be away from home could build off of an bachelors if i wanted cons: possibly losing my boyfriend lots of money to pay back i feel like i would be stressed more, i would have to find a job and get an apartment. my future plans is i want to work 3-4 days a week, possibly only weekends, at a children's hospital, away from this town!! can anyone see what the better choice for me would be? im freaking out! school starts in a few months i cannot decide and both sound like okay choices! thank you for any advice
