  1. Hospitals are in the money making business
  2. So are those jobs hard to get? Can new grads get those jobs?
  3. gohogs posted a topic in General Nursing
Most jobs say they want 1 to 2 years. How do new grads get that? Do clinicals count? Does working as a cna count?
  4. Also, would that make it easier to get a job if they knew I didn't need anything like health insurance etc?
  5. What would I be considered? I would full time but not drawing benefits. How much more an hr would I make?
  6. Here's the situation, Im a vet so I wouldn't need insurance from wherever I get a job. As a future new grad starting out could I get paid more not getting benefits?
  7. On the holiday pay, say to work 7p to 7 a on thanksgiving, would you get talk and a half up to midnight or would you get it your whole shift?
  8. How do they choose who works the major holidays? (xmas, thanksgiving etc.)
  9. Do you get extra if you work holidays?
  10. So how much more does one make (in you own individual experience) working nights? A couple dollars an hour?
  11. Do more new rn's have to start nights?
  12. My gf when she worked it hated it with a passion. Said it was hard to see friends and family etc. Does anyone like it? Was is good about it? Doesn't seem like anything to me.
  13. What is the most hours you work in one week? When does overtime start for nurses?
  14. Do most ft nurses do 36 hours? Do most have back to back days (ex. m, tues, and wed) or is it split up. Also, how often are they on call? Do some of yall have two different nursing jobs to get more hours?
  15. gohogs posted a topic in Diploma, ADN, BSN
    How long does it take?
  16. Have yall tried travel nursing? That seems like a great option if I taught during the summer.
  17. What would you have to do to get your teach cert back?
  18. How much is per diem generally? I'm still very green on nursing, and more importantly, y'all said the time wasn't guaranteed but I'm sure most people try and take off during the summer so it seems it would be easy to get hours.
  19. Just curious, would it be hard to get on somewhere just during the summers(obviously after having a few years experience.)
  20. Are va RN jobs good?
  21. Is it hard to get on med surg or of school?
  22. gohogs replied to Daisy_08's topic in General Nursing
It's always smart not to burn bridges.
  23. So to be able to work once a week during school (in non ltc jobs) I'll need a year at a hospital doing regular stuff? I would love to be able to have 2 careers, I'm sure jobs can become mundane at times.
  24. I'm ok with starting out as a ft nurse for a year. I have a lot of schooling to go, and it would allow me to change things up and making good money as a 26 year old. Sorry, what is ltc?
  25. Are you a vet? I am, would I be a shoe in if I applied there?
