Help! I suck at math!
Don't worry. If you don't pass the math test they will have you take basic math classes first. This will give you a foundation to be able to move onto more complex math classes. Otherwise going straight into Algebra you might have a hard time understanding the class. It's good to cover the basics and go from there. Good luck.

It took me a couple of weeks to get into school mode (been out of school a very long time). Looking forward to the next class. Have to take math placement test soon. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Good luck to all of you.

Job description
What's involved with being a "Discharge Summary Abstractor"? One of our local hospitals has an opening for this position and it falls under the Health Information Dept., but the job description is very brief. Can anyone give me more insight as to what this job really involves day to day.

how low of BP is too low to run a pt in chronic unit
You may also want to have the physician review his meds (bp), ?chf. Remember to treat the patient and not the machine. Some patients chronically have low bp and tolerate it, others would be symptomatic. In dialysis you learn your patients and know who can tolerate fluid removal. Some patients develop chf to where they have low bp's, increased fluid gains and you are not able to remove fluid. Unfortunatly they can end up in the ER with fliud overload. Document, document, document.

Getting into Nursing Informatics
I'm working on my BSN at this time and would love to get into Nursing Informatics. I'm a Clinical Manager of a dialysis clinic. What would be the best way to be able to get a job (at a local hospital) in the N.I. field without experience in that area? Local hospitals are now looking for nurses but they always want experience. How can I use my resume to best display my skills to promote N.I. I'd appreciate any suggestions.:)
