I just want to say I love this thread! I'm in my first hospital job as a nurse and was doing days on orientation. When my orientation was done I was told the need for staffing on my unit was on nights (that's a whole other story). I was so scared this would be the worst thing that ever happened to me. I'm rotating days and nights monthly at this point and going to just nights starting in January. I love it! I still feel like part of me is "giving up days", but it's so great to hear other people that love it too. Instead of people who cringe when I tell them I'm on nights.

I've been off orientation for almost 2 months. This is my first month back on days. Our pediatric floor is really heavy right now. There was a patient with surgery and trauma to her LLE. The wound care nurse had been to see her Wednesday and taught me how to dress the wound and said it looked good. Thursday I did the dressing change. Friday evening they saw redness (probably cellulitis) when they did the dressing change. Then the patient started a fever. I've been beating myself up that I missed something or did something wrong. How does everyone deal with these feelings??

They sent me an email December 4 saying my transfer evaluation was ready. However, the nursing department keeps telling me they don't have me in their system yet. It is taking forever to figure anything out.

I heard back and my status should go from provisional to accepted in a couple days. Then hopefully I can figure out my degree plan. I've never done online classes before, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm registered to start with technical writing in January. I can't get my degree plan yet because my advisor says I'm only provisionally accepted. So I have to figure out what to do about that. How is everyone else liking it?

I didn't hear anything last week. Did anyone else?

I called and got my results. I passed. Who else did??

I thought it was hard too! I'm kind of nervous to call and get my results.

Someone answered when I called. The email says you can leave a message so hopefully they get back to you.

Oh me too! Guess I'll just study my NCLEX review book.

Taking the test next Thursday. Nerve wracking.

I am applying for the February nurse internship at Washington Adventist. Anyone else applying??

I'm not sure. I was going to wait until after orientation to get stuff like the shoes and stethoscope. Hopefully they can give us some information there that will help us figure out what to buy.

Manhattan Books is a good option sometimes. Does anyone know how to fill out the insurance form? I don't know what the start date of coverage should be.
