thanks for your feedback everyone. I am very nervous about this whole thing. I have really good grades in everything else, but this A&P accelerated courses are no laughing matter. I'm normally a high caliber student, but these three week classes just don't allow for any room for error. One bad day and you are done.

Hi Everyone and again congrats on nursing school :) Question: Did any of you get in with a C in A&P? I'm still working on my prerequisites and I am taking the accelerated A&P at PSU...so far I've earned a C in the first two sequences. I work so hard, it's fair to say that I've never worked this hard in a class and not gotten an A. I'm worried that I've shot my chances at nursing school advice? retaking all of these is likely not a viable option (they are expensive!).

Hi all, so I am done with two sequences of A&P and will be starting the third on Monday. I'm pretty dissapointed(okay that's an understatement, I'm HEARTBROKEN!) I've never worked so hard in my life just to end up with C's in the classes Now I'm worried I've shot my chances at nursing school. Did any of you get in to nursing school with C's in A&P?

OMG this was the hardest class I've ever taken! I just got done with this accelerated A&P class. I am crossing all fingers hoping to pass this class. I'm so stressed out. I worked so hard these last three weeks and I am not even sure if I'll pass it. Does anyone know if ---- throws out outliers? Anyone on here took this class and cares to share with me their letter grade and their percentage?

OMG! had my first session of BI 301 this morning and let me tell you...this accelerated course is NO JOKE. If anything I'm sure I'll shed tears over It's a three week course so each day is like a week worths of information. Wish me luck on the lab portion this evening! if any of you took the accelerated course at Portland State let me know...I'm in desperate need of tips to get a good grade!

I will be taking my first sequence of A&P and the Food and Nutrition class this summer. I plan on taking human development, BIO 112, and a math class....with this I should be able to apply to the nursing program in December. good luck to you!

Wel guys the veredict is in. My job will only allow me to take one class. I had submitted a proposal to take my vacation time in hour increments this summer but it was not approved. I was told I have to use my vacation time in half day increments. So given this new information I will only take one A&P class this summer and the food and nutrition class. But, I had left this up to the hands of my creator and He knows what's best for me and my family...so he obviously knows that this is all I will be able to handle this summer. FYI: my husband is being deployed to Afghanistan in September....which is why I was trying to get the most done this summer, while I still have his help :)

Hello! I'm new on this board and my husband will be going to afghanistan at the end of August. I was wondering if I qualify for Mycaa know or if I have to wait until he is gone. any tips will be helpful. this summer I'll be working on my nursing pre-requisites.

BTW: keeping my head busy with school will help me cope with his absence....I don't want to think about it so I'm trying so hard to stay busy.

Hi, my husband is going to afghanistan in August and I am going back to school this summer working on my nursing pre-reqs...does anyone know if I have to wait until he goes before I can qualify for MYCAA or do I qualify now since it's less than 90 days before he leaves?

Well thanks to the advise received on this board I have registered at PSU to take two sequences of the A&P this summer. Wish me luck. I've asked my job for permission to alter my schedule to allow to take the class in the AM so please wish me luck with my job!

My son is turning 8 this summer and my daughter is 5. I want to do this before they get much older because the older they get the more help they need with homeworks and stuff. good luck to you as well!

Thank you! I'll definetely check those cites for the books and will likely apply to linfield as well. I plan on applying on as many programs as possible "just in case". I'm super excited but nervous at the same time. This is going to be a huge sacrifice for my family. I'm married with two children and for a while I've been the one earning the most at home. I've been trying to save as much as we can so that whenever I start the nursing program we can survive on my husband's paycheck. But I just keep thinking that watching their mom realize her dream is more important for my children then having all the uneccesary toys. My husband is very supportive and that helps.

One more questions regarding PSU: The course numbering is different than at CCC, so which course did you take? Is it the A&P 301? Thanks!

This can all be so confusing and when they add pre-reqs to the pre-reqs it can be such a lengthy process. to Joyfull 77, are you currently enrolled at PSU? Also, I'm just now starting this process and any tips regarding pre-reqs, where to buy books, or what to watch out for when applying for the nusing programs are all appreciated and welcomed. Once I'm done with the pre-reqs I'm interested in the accelerated bachelors or even the accelerated bachelors to masters OHSU program. But will also apply to CCC. thanks for any advice you can offer!

Congratulations! I'm not part of your cohort, I'll be working on my pre-requisites this summer and fall and hopefully be ready to apply next year. CCC is my first choice. I have a BA in communication studies and have been working as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for 10 years. So going back to school is both exiting and stress producing for me. I'm contemplating applying to OHSU for their accelerated program but not sure if that's a possibility yet. I am married and a mother of two, so we will all need to make a lot of sacrifices to make this happen. Any tips for someone that is still working on pre-requisites? I need to take BIO 112 this summer so that I can take BIO 231 in the fall. the problem is that BIO 112 is already full so I'll need to just show up and hope that I am allowed to register.....any tips?

Hello, I'm new on here. I have a bachelors degree and have been working as a vocational rehablitation counselor for the last 10 years. I've always been interested in being a nurse but had too many responsibilities to go thru with it. Well, I'm finally in a position where I can pursue my goal. I would like to apply for nusing programs next year but need to finish some pre-requisites. ere is where I have an issue. BIO 112 is already full at CCC and I need to take it this summer so that I can take BIO 231 in the fall, which is a must if I want to apply next year. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to meet these pre-requisites? can this be taken online anywhere?
