  1. Thanks. Exactly what I expected.
  2. Mirelda, I am in socal too. It took exactly 3 weeks for my lvn results to come in. I would give it another week and then call.
  3. Rachel, just read your other post. I have never heard of the trick not working, BUT I never tried it the first time I failed. However, like I said I got a letter in the mail a week later saying I did not pass, whereas it took 3 weeks when I did. Just regroup, keep studying. I bought a saunders app on my iphone and would do questions constantly while I was out and about.
  4. Rachel12. *IF* you fail, you will receive paperwork to reregister. You first need to send a check for $150 to the board. Once they cash it, you will again receive another ATI form. You can then go online to pearson and pay the $200 fee to test again. So in all it's $350.
  5. I failed my first time, passed my 2nd in California! I will say though, when I failed the 1st time I received the letter 1 week after taking the ncelx. Whereas when I passed the 2nd time it took 3 weeks! So no news is GOOD news in CA!!!!
  6. Looks like we may be heading that way soon. In San Diego now. Just passed the lpn nclex here. Looking to work in LTC. Can anyone give me a ballpark for hourly wages? LPNS here in CA with no experience start out at about $18-20/hr. Also, is it hard to get hired up there as an LPN? It's very hard down here as there are so many lpn programs here. Very over saturated.
  7. Been there done that! I just found out I passed the PN here in CA. It was my 2nd time taking it. What helped me was buying an app for my iphone. It's a Saunders PN one. I would do question after question on that thing! I also had a notepad by me, so when I would miss a question I would write it down and study up on it. Also I personally would not spend to much time in drugs. The first time I got all 205 questions and had maybe 4 questions on meds, the 2nd time I had 85 questions and got only 2. So don't beat yourself up about it. Know obviously the basic ones like digoxin, fosamax, flagyl etc. One last tip, I had a TON of questions about safety precautions on my first test. So know by heart all the diseases that go with airborne, contact precautions etc.
  8. It works!!!!!! I am in CA and it took 3 weeks for my LVN results in the mail! I did the trick, got the good pop up! And I got my results! I passed!
  9. I just took the nclex for LVN for the 2nd time on Monday, I got the good pop up thank god! One of my BIGGEST downfalls the first time was all about "safety precautions", knowing what went with what as far as droplet & airborne precautions. I got several questions on my first test and was clueless on which disease went with which one. So make sure you study that. I actually got a great amount of information from this site. Someone had posted a really neat way to remember it, I printed it out and studied that a lot. Don't waste to much time on drugs. The first time I had all 205 questions and was only asked about maybe 4 drugs, this time 85 questions and 2 drugs. Know your math, I had 3 dosage calculation questions but they were set up really easy, where lbs and kgs were even. I had a TON of satas! I found that if a statement is borderline check it. Before I was way to conservative in checking them and would often get them wrong. Good luck!
  10. This is SO old I know, but anyone currently work there?
  11. Exact same situation here. Stopped at 85 on the PN Nclex. Also, had A LOT of satas. I'm impressed you kept track of how many you had lol, the test was a big blur afterward for me. I did the PVT and I got the good pop up so hoping for the best. It was my 2nd time taking it and the first I had 205 questions and no a lot of sata so..... Do the trick!
  12. I recommend the Saunders-PN app if you are able to download it on your cell phone. I did question after question. When I had one I didn't answer correctly or didn't know what it was they were talking about I would look up the info and write it in a notebook I had. I would keep doing this over and over. It was my 2nd time taking it too. I got the good pop up so hoping I passed this time. Time will tell as I'm in CA too and they are slow on the results.
  13. Just wanted to recommend an app for nclex studying. If you have an iphone or other cell where you can download apps I bought the Saunders NCLEX-PN (they have RN too) and it really helped me out! Instead of staring at a book you can take the tests on the go. It was awesome and I would fill any little time by doing question after question. Perfect for being on the go. Waiting for an appointment, waiting to pick up the kids etc! Gives you accumulative stats too. A little spendy, I think it was $29.00, but worth it.
  14. Good advice here, I too had a lot of sata on my nclex exam. A rule of thumb I used is that if one of the statements were "borderline" I would click it. I found that studying for the test I was very conservative in checking them so I would often get them wrong.
  15. This is EXACTLY how I felt as well. I had a TON of sata questions. I noticed when I would study the sata ones before the test I was very conservative with checking them and found I would often get them wrong. So to me if it was borderline I checked it! I also noticed (since this was my 2nd time) that I only had one time where it asked me a similar question in a different way, so assuming I had gotten one incorrect and it was giving me another chance. Where as the first time I took the nclex I had many of these. I felt like everything I studied had nothing to do with the content on the test! But I think all the studying I did helped me pick the right answer even when I had no clue what they were asking. I only had 3 math which I got right, and I had NO questions where is asks you to mark an x on a certain spot! AAhhhhh living in CA blows, no quick results here!
