I cringe at the thought of work
I'll leave you with this. When you feel the most downtrodden, remind yourself that you do have options. You do NOT have to do this if you don't want to. well said!...and I am going to keep that advice too

Help getting back to main stream nursing after 3yrs beak
This is a follow up to my previous post: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/help-getting-back-716806.html So after alot of help and encouragements from my spouse and a friend I made on allnurses I enrolled in a very wonderful RN update program at waukesha county technical college. It took a total of 3 months to complete the program that included classroom and skills lab time with seasoned nurses to update our nursing knowledge and 6weeks clinicals at nursing subacute rehab. It was all I needed to boost my confidence to start lookin for my dream job. After countless applications, 2 interviews later I got a job and on a medical-surgical unit! I am so grateful to God and all the support I received that kept me going.I have been working for a year now and it has been a wonderful learning experience and it feels great to be able to contribute to society doing what I love doing. Is it illegal to say you're a med student if you are not in medical school?
- Scared to check....
I had to answer all the questions too and I didn't want to know when the results came out:nailbiting:. My husband had to check for me and I had passes! :woot:Just get it over with soon:yes: and save yourself the adrenaline overload from all the stress.- I got a job.
congratulation!- Didn't get the job
Chin up my dear! Something good will come along very soon. :)- I'm just... I don't know.
You could try and get in to an RN refreshers program. That helps you brush up on your theory and there is some clinical practicum involved to get you familiarized with the you practical nursing too. You can check what is available in your state. God luck and hang in there ... every problem has a solution . So cheer up:up:- Help getting back to main stream nursing after 3yrs beak
I am foreign trained nurse with 2 years work experience prior to migrating to the US in 2009. I have been volunteering with hospitals and free clinics and sometimes shadowing Nurses to help me get an idea of how the health system here works and also to get some "experience". I passed the Nclex and got my RN license but I have been waiting for my work permit to go through to be able to find a job. I have been officially not been practicing nursing for three years now apart from the times that I volunteer at the free clinic. I would appreciate some tips on how to get into the work force again after all this time off and considering that I don't have experience working in the US. Which areas will also be good to start with to enable me build my confidence. Any positive tips will be appreciated - Scared to check....
