Sutter delta medical center new grad 2016
Has anyone else received a phone call offering them the job? I haven't been called and was hoping they weren't finished making the calls. Like everyone else, I really wanted to get into this program. Also, those who got an offer, are you BSN or ADN?

CCSF Spring 2015
Yes, I'll be doing the bridge at SFSU. Nowadays it's necessary to have a BSN. I would have gone that route from the beginningg if not for the price. It would have been exponentially more expensive than going the community college ASN route.

CCSF Spring 2015
@chellessss I'm loving it! It's not easy by any means, but well worth it. It takes dedication and discipline because the stress factor is through the roof most of the time. Congratulations on getting in the program and get ready for wild ride! Good luck :-)

CCSF Spring 2015
I'm currently in the program and commute from the Concord area. It's actually not bad if you use Bart. The school is across the street from the Balboa Park station. Driving for clinicals is when it sucks.

I was picked in the lottery!!!
Thanks for the info about Pharm! I've been so preoccupied with all the background stuff and studying that I hadn't printed out my class schedule. Also, I received my scrubs yesterday :-) which was the only good part of my day because I had to put my beloved chihuahua to sleep yesterday :-(

I was picked in the lottery!!!
I just received my ebook bundle in the mail and I'm downloading the books to begin studying today. I won't be getting those other books for a few weeks. Dhe told us we won't need them for at least 2-4 weeks into the semester, so I will buy them when needed. I haven't done my background stuff yet either. Does anyone know if I will have to go to locations in SF for that? I live an hour away, so it's not convenient for me to get out there because I work full time.

I just gave my notice at work today. Hopefully they can keep me part-time because I have to work. If they don't, I'll be trying to find a weekend job.

I was picked in the lottery!!!
That's a good question. Sorry that I don't know the answer. I took a dosage calculation and pharmacology class already, so it's annoying that I have to buy those books again (albeit I think they are different books). I'm just getting the ebooks because I don't have money for both hard copy & ebook. I am, however, wondering which tablet/laptop to get knowing that we need mozilla and probably access to microsoft office. I don't recall them mentioning Office, but I don't know that a good report can be formatted without it.

Great seeing you all at orientation today, even though I don't know who you are! I got my ID card after, so now I feel really official :-) See you all on the13th!

I was picked in the lottery!!!
Yup, I picked up my packet last Tues :-) I have signed up for 2 of the classes, but it wouldn't let me register for the last one (section 31162). Did that happen for you? My uniform fitting is at 9:30. What times does everyone have? I can't wait to meet everyone!

I was picked in the lottery!!!
I got the email too. I'm bummed the packets have to be picked up instead of mailed since I'll have to take time off work to do that, but at least we finally heard :-)

I didn't get a registration email. :-/- I was picked in the lottery!!!
Yes, I read it. Seems those who are 75% done by summer 2014 will graduate with an RN degree from CCSF. After that, they do not say anything concrete about the other existing nursing students which is what I was worried about. Starcat, I am very curious to know what they told your class about what will happen if they lose accreditation, because they will tell us the same. Like many people, I assume, I can't make a decision on a whim.- I was picked in the lottery!!!

I begin my volunteering at JMMC next month :-). I'm still on the fence about going to CCSF in Spring, but waiting to start the NVC program in Fall 2015 seems like forever & I'm not getting any younger :-/. Money is also an issue because I would need to get financial aid to cover all my living expenses at least for the first semester and I don't know if I'll get enough in aid. The major issue is accreditation though. Without a concrete vow that if the school loses accreditation, it will ensure we will be placed in another accredited program, I won't feel comfortable to take that gamble. Argh, but if I didn't have to worry about finances, I would take the gamble in a heartbeat! Have any of you heard anything more concrete from anyone at the school or in the current program?- Who has volunteered?
I just had my initial volunteer group interview. We have to do 2 TB tests, plus go through a 3 hour orientation, provide 2 references, and clear a background check. We get to chose the top five departments where we want to volunteer. If a spot is not available where we want to be, we get put on a waitlist for that spot while volunteering in another department. I'm very excited to start and hope to continue for much longer than the 6 month initial commitment.- I was picked in the lottery!!!
Volleygrl, did you find anything out? I sent an email asking for answers using the form on the school's website, but haven't yet received any response.- CCSF Lost it's Accreditation!
For those of us who were supposed to start the nursing program this fall or next spring, I caution you to think twice. The accreditation is to be revoked next summer.- I was picked in the lottery!!!
I just saw this too! Ugh, damnit! I am so thankful that I'm also on the waitlist at NVC, at least I know I'm still going to nursing school eventually. I'm planning to apply to other programs in the fall as well. This is so terribly disappointing :-(- Prerequisite relay
Yep! I had to go to 3 different community colleges in the area to get all my prereqs done. It wasn't so much that the same classes weren't offered at every school, it was that by the time I could register for classes (everyone has a registration date - the first date they can register for a class), there was no room left so I had to take whatever I could get. (I didn't have the luxury of being able to take classes during the day because I work full-time, so the limited evening classes filled up extremely quickly.) For the first 2 semesters, I couldn't even get into any of the science classes I needed because they were packed, so I had to take some fluff classes to up my registration spot for the next semester. I began on this journey of trying to take pre-reqs in Fall 2009, finished my last pre-req in Fall 2012, applied to 2 ADN programs in February 2013, and in April 2013 got accepted to both . Keep your eye on the prize and you won't even remember the struggle to get there once it's over. Good luck to you!- I was picked in the lottery!!!
I need to work and have been looking for a part-time position at a hospital for months now and haven't found anything yet. My plan is to be working as a CNA after our first semester of NS, but during the first semester is what I'm worried about. If anyone gets in anywhere or knows of any entry-level hospital openings, please let us know :-) A helping hand gets paid back in spades ;-) - I was picked in the lottery!!!
