NCLEX and Kaplan
I did Kaplan and got 60-65% on the trainers. I did all the trainers and 95% of the qbank. I passed in 75 questions and the questions were similar, although Kaplan may have been a littler harder.

Pay for new grad
Hi, Just wondering what kind of pay new grads usually get... I was accepted an offer of $21.85 an hour, I just graduated in May. There was no room for negotiation as that hospital has the same pay for all new grads... I am in Central Florida if that matters. I'm going to grad school right away which they will pay 5k towards after working there for 6 months, so I figure that is worth a lot.

What was your gpa when accepted into ucf's nursing program?
Well I didn't brush up at all and I did fine.. I would honestly say you don't really need to brush up at all. I can't really think of any pointers other than go to class, write down what your teachers say because that is whats going to be on the test, and try to read before class if you can (although most people don't). Also, I would say don't bring your laptop because its too tempting to surf the internet during class. Good luck! If you want you can be my friend on facebook and feel free to ask me if you ever need help, I did pretty well... I guess I would also say to take lab seriously because lab is the place where you can mess up!

What was your gpa when accepted into ucf's nursing program?
Hi, I got accepted in 2009 with a 3.2, but I had gotten those grades by going to UCF the whole time and I had previously been a biology major so some of my classes were a little bit tougher. Good luck! Just graduated and feel great!

Average KAPLAN scores and passed NCLEX
I'm taking my NCLEX tomorrow AHHH. I feel confident because i have gotten 60-65% on all the trainers in kaplan... I still have little things that I forget though, newborns have so many random things about them that I can keep straight. Also I keep forgetting how to go up and down the stairs with a cane and crutches!

How come a foreign nurse can find a job but American nurses can't?
is all I can think of

Am I waisting my time with associates degree?
If you already have a BS degree why don't you just do an accelerated program for your BSN? It probably would take less time than your ADN degree AND it will be way easier for you to find a job.

How come a foreign nurse can find a job but American nurses can't?
Ugh, I hate the "FOREIGNERS ARE TAKIN' OUR JEERBBBSS!!!" argument. Don't people realize that we are all human beings in this world? Just because we happened to be born in America doesn't make us inherently better or more capable of being an excellent nurse. I'm sure many of the nurses from the Philippines or Africa or wherever are fine nurses! They still have to pass the NCLEX! I understand the OP had a problem with this particular nurse, and it does seem like she had some problems communicating, but this shouldn't be generalized to all "foreigners." I've met nurses who were from Africa and other places, and they are awesome! So what if they have an accent? If anything, its fun to learn about their culture. Don't be afraid of foreigners "taking your job", just step up to the plate and be ready to compete a little if you have to.
