  1. Jana, This will be my second time applying to OUHCS. The only difference this year is that I will have a non-nursing degree in May. I can't believe they only accept 20-50 people.:uhoh21: I will definately apply to more than one program. I'm glad I didn't go to the seminar, but I figure what can be more discouraging than a denial letter! (ANOTHER ONE). I'll just keep my head up and you do the same. Good luck. Thanks for the reply :) Kristina
  2. hey okie2, i am also applying to the second degree program. i was wondering how the application seminar went. was there any helpful advice about he application process. if so, do you mine sharing kristina

Oh sorry, don't agree with getting into programs by who you know.
  4. Hi everyone, I have been researching nursing programs in California and need any advice on nursing programs. There is so much more opportunity. I am looking into any second degree or accelerated programs. USD has a really nice program, but from the other threads that I have viewed this is a tough one to get into. Are all areas impacted and have a waiting list. I am ready and willing to start with an ADN program also. I would appreciate any experience shared or advice. Thanks Kristina:)

Thanks for replying. I definately don't agree with. I was really disappointed. I hear this quite often though. What was so upsetting is that the girl that got in decided not to go because she didn't like the age group of most of the people that were in the program. I couldn't believe this because for someone like me that has had a passion for nursing and didn't get accepted, would jump at anything to began my nursing career, but for someone else to have opportunity and not take a chance, that could have been someone else's spot!

Hi everyone, I am applying for the Nursing programs again this year. I have been told so many times that it is all about who you know that would guarantee a you spot in most nursing programs, especially here in an impacted are where I am located. Last year I applied and didn't get accepted. I had a discussion with a friend whose roomate got in because of her mother not GPA or other application requirements. Is this true?
  8. Hey Antares, Thanks for responding. I am currently located in Oklahoma City, Ok. I have been researching many accelerated programs everywhere in the U.S. By the time I am ready to apply, I would like to be in the San Diego area. I will definately keep in touch with you. Good luck! Kristina
  9. Hello Antares, I thought your advice about the accelerated program was helpful. I have so many questions about the application process. I have completed all my prereq's that most universities require, unfortunately I don't have the most perfect grades. I hear that the accelerated programs are more competitive than the traditional, i don't want to get discouraged, but I also want to be realistic with my chances of being accepted. I would really appreciate advice or, to know how the experience is so far. :)
  10. I'm not the greatest at Math, but got an A in Stats. Go for it!
  11. I REALLY APPRECIATE THE ADVICE. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN ONLINE COURSES. I AM NOT AWARE OF THE REQUIREMENTS, BUT I PLAN ON LOOKING INTO THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX. CONGRADULATIONS ON YOUR GRANDUATION, AND GOODLOOK IN YOU CAREER :)
  12. THANKS FOR THE ADVICE JESSICE. I AM INTERESTED IN ONLINE PROGRAMS AND WILL DEFINATELY LOOK INTO THEIR PROGRAMS.
  13. THANKS MICHELLE FOR RESPONDING AND THE ADVICE. I HAVE LOOKED INTO ALL THE PROGRAMS THAT YOU MENTIONED. I WAS REALLY INTERESTED WITH UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO, AND LONG BEACH. I'VE CONTACTED A FEW PEOPLE. IT SEEMS THAT IT WOULD BE REALLY HARD FOR ME TO GET ACCEPTED BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS, AND BECAUSE I AM A TRANSFER STUDENT. I REALLY WANT TO LOOK INTO THEIR ACCEPTACE AND DENIAL RECORDS.
  14. Hi everyone, I am intrested in BSN programs and accelerated nursing programs located in California. Help needed from anyone that has applied, and that has any suggestions on any programs.
