  1. Wow!! You were more than determined to get into a program this year! LOL How much was the background check & drug screening? Did you have to pay for both at the same time? We're on a single income right now, so I have to work this into my budget ASAP! JCC is using CertifiedBackground.com...is that the same as WTCC?
  2. Congratulations!!! I got mine today also!!! So which school are you going to attend? I saw you'd posted on another thread that you were also trying for WTCC. Good luck & hope to meet you in person.
  3. @ Highpraise ~ I was accepted a couple years back at JCC, but at that time I turned it down. I looked at the letter a few weeks ago & it was dated 5/20. There's also some strings from last year stating that some folks got their letters around the 25th. The suspense is just killing me... :) Good to know about the point ranking...what did you score on the TEAS combined with your pre-req scores? GOOD LUCK!!! Where else did you get accepted?
  4. Welcome back to NC! :) I've done all of my coursework through JCC. The main difference in the two schools in regards to the ADN acceptance process, I believe, is that Wake Tech has an actual waiting list. JCC actually uses a testing method for acceptance. They have potential ADN students take a TEAS test, then use that score in addition to a points system from your GPA from the pre-req classes. Then the points are used in a ranking system against the other students you test against. One other thing that is required from JCC is that you are CNA I certified...not sure if Wake Tech has the same requirement. JCC's website is johnsoncc.edu. Good luck!!!
  5. I'm currently waiting on my letter from a community college in NC. It is quite agonizing the closer time gets to the date the letters will be mailed. I keep hoping they'll, for some reason, send the letters out just a little bit sooner than normal As far as trying to keep my mind off of the wait....well I'm pouring myself into anything and everything I can to keep busy. I have a child, so I'm doing even more volunteering at the school, and making plans for every weekend in between. Good luck on your letter!!!
  6. Anyone else getting a little ancy (sp?) about the letters coming in for the ADN program @ JCC??? I took the TEAS in February & have been waiting patiently until May 1st hit. Now I'm hoping some miracle will happen & the letters will be sent early!! LOL Good luck everyone!
  7. The science section actually surprised me. I bought the study manual & what was covered there, was nothing like what was on the test. I'm not sure what the study guide is like on-line. The TEAS test I took weighed a lot on chemistry. So if you have any of your old chem notes, or books, I'd brush up on those. My scores were like lollila's, in that I didn't fare so well in science, but my math & english scores brought my total score up substantially. Good Luck!!!
