  1. I'm thinking I'll try having a smaller lunch at work at midnight or so, so that it is a little earlier than usual. Maybe try to stay up later on nights off too. I just feel so lazy sleeping until late on days off! But I need to readjust my thinking - still the same amount being accomplished just on weird hours. Definitely frustrating but I guess I'll find what works for me, as it sounds you all have. Thanks for all the replies
  2. I'm about a month into my night shift schedule. I have no problems staying up at work, sleep well during the day and am learning a lot. The problem lies on my nights off. I keep waking up at 2/2:30 am (about the time I eat "lunch" at work) and cannot fall back asleep! Sometimes I try a snack then going back to bed, but no matter what I can't fall asleep again. Tips? Please! When do you guys eat at work? Does that schedule mess you up on off nights? I think thats what is causing my problems.
  3. Hi! New grad telemetry nurse here, just wondering what journals everyone suggests subscribing to. Also what associations should I join? I was just looking at ANA and am just overwhelmed at how expensive this could all get!
  4. I'm only five foot and have the hardest time with scrub pants. Fundamentals white swan PXS are great! And cheap, and lots of pockets
  5. Wow, thanks so much for all your information! Once I have that experience I'll look into the homecare suggestion too :)
  6. It has been over 3 weeks and they have still not given me a number or processed my results yet! I'm getting very frustrated because I can't even go to orientation without this number! What is the website? That might be easier then calling! Thanks
  7. Anything! Either New Brunswick or Toms River. Inpatient mainly is my interest though
  8. Does anyone have experience with children's specialized hospitals? It's my dream facility and I hope after gaining 1+ yrs RN experience in a hospital to apply there. I was thinking of volunteering in the meantime to make myself known. just looking to hear anything from RNs who have experience there about what it's like, how to make myself more marketable there, etc :)
  9. I have my NCLEX tomorrow - What else do I need to bring? My ATT, appropriate identification (license/passport) What else? Am I allowed to bring in my phone and snacks? There's a locker room right? Thanks everyone!
  10. Call and check on the status everyday- by my 3rd call I was in the system! The guy even said the more you bother them the faster they want to get it to you
